Damascus/Spousal since Jan 2010 or late 2009

Bacheha merci everyone, so many of you messaged me and some of you inja be man deldaari dadid, merci again for your kindness everyone.

After researching and asking experts, I decided to forget about so many personal matters, and get married to my love in Turkey as soon as my school finishes in April. It seems appeal is lengthy and not 100% safe. I don't regret it though, I guess so many things happened that made me to experience and become a stronger person. Now I think: hamishe bayad az chizi kaast ta be chizi afzaasht....

I have a question for those who live in Toronto area. I'm soon gathering paper works for applying under spousal sponsorship. This time I'm not represented by a lawyer and am doing everything myself. By any chance, is there someone here who has just started the process? I was thinking maybe we could meet and check with each other the documents we have to include in our application. I know everything is online, but kaar az mohkam kari eyb nemikone. I'd be really happy if someone is interested.

Why dont everyone here including me email ankara and express our concerns about our files and when they see the number of emails on monday morning they will do something. If we sit back and just wait I think they wont care as much. what do you think? If everyone in here sends them an email they will pay more attention to spousal sponsorship on Monday.

because you cannot predict how they react to such concerns. It may result in a positive reaction as well as a negative one.

Hi , I think they have a guidline to follow, doesn't matter how much we push it ,still they do what they do, it is important for us just to trust them doing their job , they don't know us , and I think there wont be any favors to one over another one, I understand it is hard not knowing what is gion on , but we cant do much.

Believe me I literally "begged" them to answer my email and they didn't. They don't care and they don't have any answer other than "we sent the file for the security check". We don't have any other options. Look at VOs like pakistan, UAE, Lebanon, we are lucky in that region!!!!!

i just got a phone call from a family friend... his co-worker had applied for his wife in May 2012... and went into process October 2012... and got the golden email yesterday!!!

So GOOOOOOD NEWS they are still issuing visas...

Just a quick question... January 24th should be the update for the VO wait times am i correct cuz the last date was october 24th...?? so Inshala we will be seeing a drop in processing times for Anakara this period.. but i wonder if they will update it soon..usually i guess it shows up later... does anyone know when it will be updated approximately??

You are correct the next quarterly update should come in the following week. But I'm not looking forward to it.

I'm 90% sure that we will NOT see a decrease in the processing time for Ankara VO and here's why.

The update will be based on the period from Jan 2012 to December 2012. If you look at our own spreadsheet you'll see that not many visa were issued during this period we only saw a jump in visa issuing at the beginning of January which is NOT included in this update! Additionally the people who received their visa during this period were former Damascus applicants with an already long waiting period. So I'm making an educated guess that the processing time will either stay at 16 months or even increase but this is not bad since we had the early January which is a sign that things are moving faster now.

However I will be more than happy if Ankara could prove me wrong and the processing time decreases.

I am almost agree with you that if the process time has not been reduced that is not necessarily bad news. However, the number, if you remember, jumped overnight (by mid june i guess) from 6 to 15 months. It was not by any means a gradual increase. If we believe that all the numbers were correct, it means that they started to issue visas for damascus applicants just a few months before June 2012 and they kept doing so for the past months. So whenever damascus load decreases significantly, we should expect a dramatic change in CIC timeline.
There are, in deed, two presumptions: 1- the numbers have been provided correctly during all these two years 2- they did not change their methodology since June 2012.

My lawyer says I shud be getting mine sometimes in Feb but after registering in this Forum I am not sure if she knows what she is talking about
