Does anyone have an idea on average how long Spousal sponsorships are taking in Amman to process? I have been waiting for 15 months now and I have not heard a word from the embassy or anyone else for that matter. The processing times keeps climbing, it was 12 months before and now its 19 on CIC website. This process is taking a HUGE negative impact on my life...
Dear mchaabaa, I totally understand the pain you are in. Everything gets worse when you got no clue where the end of this process is. You can find a chart in the signature of my post in which there is tab named "Amman". Maybe you can get a gist of whats going on. Also There exists another topic related to Amman applicants, they also have a more complete chart. I believe these charts can help you much better than CIC estimated waiting time! Good Luck ;)

Hi all .....

I need to know when I'll get the immigration visa . is it soon or no ??
I'm living in Saudi Arabia ( Riyadh )
my wife living in Canada and she applied my file on 29 FEB 2012
the medical exam and the police clearance submitted in the same file
the Canadian embassy received my file 5 March 2012
25 July 2012 the Canadian embassy in Abu Dhabi request me to fill some forms (RESIDENCY QUESTIONNAIRE + IMM5549 Supplementary Information Form ) and remake the police clearance again plus the passports copies and the visa fees ( 490$ )
I sent all the requested documents on 11 Sep 2012 to Canadian embassy in AD.
the Canadian Embassy received it on 13 Sep 2012
my medical exam will expire on 17 Jan 2012
please Now I need to know the next step and how much time it will take to start the process and if they are going to issue my visa before the medical exam expire

thanks in advance
Dear memo2012, Hi!
Actually here we are aware about former Damascus applications which are now sent to Ankara, Amman, Beirut, etc. We can not help you precisely in your case but lets analyze it in our own way:
According to CIC website, the processing time for AbuDhabi Visa Office is 24 months, but the process that you explained seems to be much more faster hopefully. CIC also states 15 months of waiting for Ankara applicants which is generally 10-12 months now! To the best of my knowledge, when a visa office asks for update of docs, it takes up to 4 months to finalize the case. But again, I confirm whatever I say is according to Ankara and Damascus and dunno anything abt AbuDhabi! If your file were in Ankara I could tell you you will get your visa before the new year, so lets hope the same happens in AbuDhabi! ;)

Thnx so much for the compliment...
If you ask me people who were amongst the first series which got Ankara are prone to get visa sooner than others. These people can be specified in the chart by those who are In Process since March like you! :)
You were in process even before our files got to Ankara... We have Laval & imatra who applied in Feb like you and ppred! So the magic email is not far from you 8)

:( Kazhal, honey, Do you have a lawyer? I hope not!

For those who have a lawyer!

I talked with a friend who has been in process for 2.5 years. Do not panic, his was a very special case(he had a period of unauthorized stay in Canada)... But I wanted to warn you about those lazy... lawyers: After not hearing anything about his file and confirming with his lawyer that there is no update, my friend went to Ankara with his wife. As his wife was a Canadian Citizen and their case had exceeded the common waiting time, they let the wifey in. After a survey, they showed her the evidence that they had emailed the lawyer abt needed docs but when she asked their lawyer, he refused receiving so! I m not against lawyers, but plz plz plz take care of your file yourself even if you have a lawyer... Dun let them play with your lives!!!

And please those who have lawyer dun freak out... yours for sure is a good one, but never trust them fully. Try to follow the process up with your lawyer every now & then!

Best of Luck ;)

yeh i do, very unfortunate but yea...oh yeh i have been emailing the embassy and i have had my MP office emailing them and finding things out for me..my lawyer has not told me any good news since the last 20 month or so...i found out that there was docs missing, that the fee wasnt paid,,a copy of the original marriage certificate was missing among other things....the embassy is so cruel and inhuman, and this background check is absolutely pointless, my husband cant even hear a fly!! but hey we have to pay for the mistakes of others, God is great and i hope he hears my prayers and sees my suffering...im going back to school and depression is just around the corner im trying really hard not to let it get to me but hell its hard!!
