Good to know. Thanks for sharing these info heremashti said:As long as you are paying enough tax to CRA they are happy. But you can do something to pay less tax now that you are married:
- Give new and updated TD forms with claim for spouse credit to your employer so they will deduct less tax starting the next payroll cycle.
- If you wife does not move to Canada by December then in Feb you can still claim the spousal credit as you are married. The only difference is that your wife will not fill for taxes as she is not in Canada yet.
Basically the spousal credit has no condition on where the spouse is living.
