Hello everyone,

This situation is getting very ridiculous for all...I have an idea!
What do you think about letting the media know about the way immigration is handling the spousal sponsorship files from syria and how devastating it has become! I don't know if you are familiar with the CTV program called "W5" . It is a really powerful program and they usually take care of all kinds of stories that are mainly related to people with no voice! we may also include a petition form (or a facebook link that was created by Sohrab earlier last year; called: family Reunification? Petition against the Canadian Immigration Policies ) and submit it to them.

If you are interested let me know and here is the link to their site: http://www.ctv.ca/w5/

Amman visa office instead of Ankara!

dear friends,

something strange happened to me and I just want to share it with u to be careful.
I recieved my approval letter from mississuaga 2 weeks ago. as my husband and I are iranian and my husband lives in Iran, the vo should be Ankara, but they had mentioned in my letter of approval that they have sent my file to Amman !!! I called the call center and they said that they have made a mistake !! just like this ! and it takes time to make up this mistake. I was so angry and sad and I got seek for 2 days ! but there is nothing I can do.
plzzz be careful and pay attention in every step because they are not as careful as they show.
hope u the best

Kamelia i think you are the second one that face such a problem. I think it happened to Laleh_d too. It is really ridiculous.

Does it mean that they transfered your file by mistake to Amman and now they want to transfer it to Ankara? or just the letter was typed wrong

Hello lovebirds.

Honestly its an unique idea and im sure if this issue would reflect in this program will has a goof effect on Canadian immigration. I'm with u on this issue. the thing is we don't loose anything by doing that if we don't gain anything. so why not doing that. im not sure how we have to do it? i mean do we have to do it individually?

yes they have sent my file to Amman by mistake, it was not just a mistake in typing the letter, it really happened. and what bothers me is that they say yes there has been a mistake, and it takes some time to correct this mistake !! I hope this process goes smoothly for everyone.

Dear friends,

Does anyone have any idea what will be the consequences if a PR decides to leave Canada and comes to live with his/her spouse till the ppr is issued?
I know that based on the law, a pr should live in Canada while his spouse application is being processed but now that there is no residency questionnaire required and they dont ask where the sponsor is, what will happen if the pr joins his wife?

Hi All,

I contacted the MP office and this is what his assistant replied me:

Thank you for your email.

I am sorry to inform you that, due to the closure of the visa office in Damascus, it will take quite some time for all the applications (that was previously processed in Damascus) to be transferred, opened and processed in Ankara. Our office had tried to obtain a status update for some of the files that are transferred, but CIC has advised us to wait until at least June 2012 to make an enquiry. From my understanding, Ankara is trying their best to organize and work on these transferred files as soon as they can, but due to the large volume of applications being transferred, it may take another two months before we may be able to obtain a status update.

I am sure Ankara will be in touch with your wife as soon as they are able to work on the file. If your wife has moved or changed her contact information, please make sure that your wife writes to Ankara updating her situation with her signature on the letter. If she would like Ankara to contact her by email, she can also do so by writing a letter with her signature.

My only comment, these guys (immigration people) are very inconsistent and untrustworthy.

Done,

Shoot! It's like a never ending story! The fact that we don't have any idea about the deadline and they are not giving us any timeline is only adding to the stress and frustration.
Although we can't judge the whole processing time by one email my implication from Ur post is that we have to wait for 3 to 6 month since June 2012 which means a 6 to 9 month processing time is ahead of us. That's too much, but even they would have told us that 6 months is ahead of us is much better.
At the moment we can't plan for anything.

thx for supporting :) well, we can have a few representatives and the rest of us could sign, for example, a unified letter, a facebook link and etc... in case others agree and we are enough of people for this , then we will figure out the proper way to approach. That part is not that difficult :) it is just a phone call or an email away!!!

and to the rest of friends in this or other forums:

In case you are not in canada, PLEASEEE let your spouses know about this... It may help us and others who are applying later on!!!
THANKS A LOT :)

Lets hope for the best now!

NO PPR FOR TODAY? :-\

Na Arezou joon. The same thing did not happen to me. What happen to me was it took me 78 days to get my sponsor approval while it took others applying in the same month less than 50 days. What happened to Kamelia is really sad and heart breaking. I have so many emotions running through my head right now most of them are negative so I am not going to share them all here with you because I know people in this thread have their own share of sadness, anger and frustration already.I think we need to take some action. this is getting ridiculous.
