No on CAIPS. But what the consultant ment is that during a certain year a precise number of application have to be done to meet quota.
and I beleive the next time they will review the quota for the year 2012 is feb 2.(if i understood correctly)
i hope that helps answer (^_^)

Hi sohrab919 ... you seem to have more expertise in this area than most of us, since you work for CIC and are married with somebody in Iran. I have a question for you. I came back to Iran 11 months ago and married 3 months ago and decided to stay with my husband till he gets his papers. Do you think that my staying here in Iran is going to delay our application? Do you have any answer for this one?

Thanks in advance.

no its not going to affect it in anyway, as long as the sponsor shows they are planning to live and settle in canada everything will be processed as normal, we have had a few cases where the sponsor stayed with their husband/wife for the whole process in a country other than canada, so yeah as long as the intent to return is there you will be fine

My husband got his visitor visa because i was pregnant and i needed him to come and support me. But they wanted prof from my doctor that i was pregnant and they wanted my due date, but sadly he wasn't here to see the birth of our son because the papers took soo long! :( they took 3 months to finish and approve.
but hes here now thank god! :D

Good for you!
I think your husband can redo his medical in Canada. I do not think it causes any problem. I remember some ones else here that had the same situation.

And money, I might add. I still don't understand why they can't request medicals when they need them instead of expecting people to do them initially and inevitable wait for them to expire. Maybe someone here has figured out the rationale for that, if any.......I'd love to know.

Hey Lina, is that you? I have a feeling it is :P My husband got asked to do it also! He already did it though, so we just sent the medical slip and the police clearence (just in case)! Ask Dr. Press where he can do it, or call Scarborough Grace, or the DT Hospital! Good luck! xoxo

Common! It's our time and money, why should they care!
How I wish instead of Damascus our files were in Ankara.....the whole process is only 5 months there.

Indeed. Someone joked on another forum you could move to Beijing, become a citizen, apply from there, and get Canadian PR before you could ever finish with some visa offices here. Could be worse, I guess - Nairobi is 30 months.
