Hello everyone, wish you all a happy new year full of pprs
My wife redid the medical exams here in Montreal and we sent the green sheet to the embassy.
They asked her to redo it last october but she couldnt because of the pregnancy.
I am wondering how long time it will take more and how could she get the visa without going to Damascus or beirut.
Thank you
Best luck to everyone

hi "still waiting"
no they did not till now, but it seems they will in this year.
I am worred about working there, I wanna start working. no permenant residence , so no stable situation, so the employer will not want to hire employee like us in his company. this make life tough and tough it is not fair.
and how will effects on other things like medical care or studing some courses.

Absolutely, i couldn't agree more! I don't know what to tell you! I guess that's the new icing on the cake.

Question:

In Iraq they always exclude the surname from any documents; it's always the first name, fathers name and grandfathers name. Having said that, on my wife's iraqi id card, it says my name as the spouse but without my surname (only has first name, fathers name and grandfathers name). Now, the marriage certificate does have my full name including the surname surprisingly. My question is, will this cause any confusion on the officer's end because the id card does not have my surname? It would be obvious that both names on the id card and the marriage certificate are the same person right?

I hope my question is clear...

Hi aaa2012-
I would think it is fine- the immigration officers are educated in what documents from different countries look like. They should be aware that Iraq does not include the surname. I hope I understood correctly and gave you the answer you were looking for;)
