No I haven't applied yet. I'm actually going to Iran to visit him next week, and there I'm gonna get all of his documents. I have mine ready forwarded to my lawyer. I know we are qualified for conjugal partnership. So when I come back from Iran we'll send everything out. The other thing I'm really confused about, my lawyer told me I don't need to have a proof of income, and from what I've read on this forum, you must prove you have a at least some income, isn't that true? The only thing he asked me to bring was Notice of Assessment!
They ask for notice of assessment but on the CIC website website it says that there is no minimum income requirement for spousal applications.

Thanks A+M.

People I just read a post by this guy who's sponsoring his spouse from Argentina. The processing time, as CIC says is 10 months, but he got his in only 1 month!!! He said he applied a month ago and just received an email today saying that the visa is ready and they just need the passport to issue it. How great is that...........

Thanks for sharing this link :) Its crazy to know that they have 6 month difference between now and 2008,2009 people for the process time (7 vs 13). Why just tell me why. In every organization the process time go down year after year no up. Its unlucky if we was married 2 year before we was already whit our partner in our home .

Hi guys :)

Check this link out...http://www.data.gc.ca/default.asp?lang=En&formid=427337D0-7C36-4FED-8428-C6A63F8C19B3&xml=F36C86A9-85F5-454E-835A-5C534A9E942E&resource=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cic.gc.ca%2Fopendata-donneesouvertes%2Fdata%2F000001-eng.xls&formid=427337D0-7C36-4FED-8428-C6A63F8C19B3

Click continue and it will open a spread sheet in Microsoft Excel. It says that the approval rate for Damascus spousal applications is 92%! There's also other info (not much, but it's good to see) about how long it takes them to process applications. Just thought I would share it so that everyone can see and maybe feel a little happier :)

Some people have luck i guess and get it sooner then others this is the unfair part if they're missing info or doubting something why not contact us right away instead of making us wait all this time to finally advie us e need documents?? ...its heartbreaking were all celebrating our 1 year anniversaries alone its difficult enough to be in love and far away and it gets worst after you get married cause its meant to bea family after that ..anyhow i didnt even watch my wedding video today cause it'll kill me ...i know we need to be positive but its hard to remain positive when u see people like kamal and the Bou's waiting a year and more since docs reached the embassy and dont forget the 5 to 6 months preparation of the documents and waiting for step 1 approval and CSQ for Quebec residents wich is an extra month!! its ridiculous ..

I agree with you Ramz. At some point during the processing a VO that is reponsiable of making the decesion will look at your application, if it's satisfactory to him/her then you are lucky other wise they will ask you for documents and the wait extendes.
This brings me to another topic I wanted to discuss with all of you guys.. that is the intials of the visa officers signed at the end of the e-mails we get from Damascus. So far I have got e-mails from RLA, NHA ,NRJ, and e-mails with no intials at the end. Based on my personal analysis RLA is some one responsable of gathering documents and making sure the required documents are in the file (not a decesion maker). NHA seems to be an assistant to the decesion maker, which in my case I believe was NRJ.
Our file was evaluated by NRJ in mid July and I strongly believe if all the required documents were there in front of NRJ we would have gotten the visa at that time !!! imagine the time difference
NRJ requested more proof of the ongoing communication from us in addition to "Evidence shows that your sponsor can financially Support you and himself", which was highlighted in a bold font, and here we are still waiting
So for those of you who just started the process, make sure that you have all the proof you can provide ready in front of them even if they don't ask for it. At the beginning of the process I was a PhD student and i was able to provide solid evidence of my financial capability to support myself and mywife BUT when my file actually reached a point were it was ready to be processed I was finishing my PhD and not getting any money from the university and so the surprised me with thier e-mail. Luckly i was able to find a job with in one month and send them the documents they asked for.
I hope this will help others to be as much prepared as they could in order to avoid delays and be in the "Lucky" category.

Good luck to every one and I hope next week will bring us a lot of good news.
Please give your feed back about officers intials and cofirm my analysis about intials based on your own recieved e-mails

hi there, about the initials ,well what alchemist mentioned makes sense, I have received two e-mails replying to my questions and in both of them RLA was written in the signature, in one of them RLA told us that they have not received my file and in the second RLA wrote they have received it .
About being lucky, well luck plays a role in every aspect of life ,I think.
note:As I had decided to have a lawyer in this process I remember she told me to mention what assets my husband(person being sponsored) has along with my bank account statement and you can have no job but enough assets to persuade them that you wont need any financial need.
And guys these days whenever I feel down I just surf the internet and read about being positive, I know sometimes it is so hard to remain positive but sometimes some phrases may really work for us if we believe they can have impact on our issues ,I have selected some, hope they create positive energy and luck derives from this enery, here are some:
Train your mind to think in terms of 'possible' and 'can be done'.

When there are difficulties and you feel down, this is the time to visualize, think and expect the positive

Do not let circumstances influence your thoughts and moods. By rising over them mentally, you will eventually rise over them materially.

Fill your mind with light, happiness, hope, feelings of security and strength, and soon your life will reflect these qualities.

Repeating inspiring quotes during the day, helps to better cope with every situation that arises.

Positive thinking is expecting, talking and visualizing with certainty what you want to achieve, as an accomplished fact.

have a good night! :D
