i dont know if you guys heard or not but things are a bit dark in syria...... i hate politics as much as all of you but i just wanted to say something to you all since i am in the exact same situation..... syria could lose its power(electricity ) in days..... the arab league suspended syria so syria cant turn to the arab countries for help (21 countries) and now France closed their embassy

the only good sign , i guess its a good sign , is that the UK isnt doing anything and the US ambassador is coming back...
I am losing hope here, a lot of us including myself have waited more than 11 months just to have political agendas interfering with our lives. I am getting my master's degree done and I am losing concentrations. Senseless process.
So can the embassy gets electricity generator if electricity is gone?, I don't think we are that important, otherwise they would have sped this turtle walking on one leg process.

WE GOT AN INTERVIEW DATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my it feels so unreal. My husband has an interview next Thursday ;D ;D ;D
Our journey is almost complete. They just called my husband from the Beirut visa office. Then they sent him an email requesting him to bring a few more documents. Soooo that being said, I have a few questions for all of you. They asked for him to bring his passport, proof of my income, and proof that he wants to reside in Canada.

I have been in school and then I came directly to Lebanon and have been with my husband waiting for the immigration papers. So i haven't been working and can't provide proof such as tax receipts and whatnot. However in the initial package we provided both of my parents' tax receipts and a letter stating that we would be living with them until we can establish ourselves in Canada...should we just send them my parents' recent tax information along with another letter? What other documents can we provide?

More proof they asked for was proof that he wants to come and move to Canada. I think they are worried about this only because I am here staying with my husband. He does have a job offer, but again, what other papers can he provide? Would it look bad if we booked tickets for both of us and showed them? Since then it's like he's assuming he's getting a visa.

Any help would be appreciated!!!

Sweetie, I would suggest that your parents write an affidavit that they are willing to support both of you, a tax slip is not enough since it does not tell them that your parents are obligated to be financially responsible, take it from me I worked in an immigration company. If they have a good income and are in Canada, let's them have it notarized and scan it to you.

I think what you can do is buy yourself only a one-way ticket that you are going back to Canada. You know affidavits can be written for anything so I think you can write one stating the date you left Canada (right before or during application process) and for the purpose of being with your husband in this lengthy immigration process and that your intention is to continue living in Canada united with your family (parents and spouse). Others can think of other things. I am not sure what else.

Great, thanks for your help! I will look into this and ask my parents for some suggestions as well. I might call our MP and ask her what we can do as well.

Hi scarycemetry,
one step ahead in the process, did they say that you also should be in the interview since you are there you might as well be waiting with your husband in the embassy during the interview. just review your application and the officer will be asking him information about himself and yourself for example about your school your intention what are your plans when you come to canada which area you are interested to live in , is your husband willing to go back to school if yes look up for some colleges and courses he may be interested in when he arrives to canada .

all the best and hopefully they will issue the visa soon

Thank you for your support. They did not specify that I should be there, but I will be going with him. If they let me into the interview or no I'm not sure so we'll see when they get there. We are reviewing our application and he does have a few school he was looking at. We did inquire about a program a while back so we will bring that email with us. We're just going to over prepare and bring as much evidence as we can...no such thing as being too ready!

Hi everyone I have another question...my husband re-did his medicals on Nov. 4th. We have not sent the green sheet yet but were planning to do so on Monday. Since we have the interview next Thursday, should we bring it with us? Or should we just send it now to Syria?

my friend if you read what i wrote you will see i said im not here to depress anyone or to spread negative thoughts,
i am not even allowed to be here talking but since i have so many dear friends hear who have kept in touch with me im stating the truth of whats going on, and PLEASE read and let it digest before interpeting words......... i dont understand how the things i shared have any relation to a genrator?!?!? im saying its a political crisis...... yes all the hospitals in damascus will stay open but canadians have no obligation to be here......... thats my point, when 21 ARAB countries turn their back on syria and when countries are pulling their ambassadors one by one it means its a crisis...... even if they had a generator no one will be here to use it, no western country takes that risk.... you dont believe me look at my country iran....
