The touristic visa was approoved after almost 3 weeks. She got it for 6 months. She stayed in canada almost 5 months, but as she got pregnant and she had not health insurance she went back to lebanon to follow her pregnancy.
After 3 months, we were disapointed as the sponsorship visa still not approoved. So she applied for the study permit in order to have a health insurance in Canada. She got it after 6 weeks. it is valide for 2 years.

I said she was fed up because she was waiting in very hard situation. Pregnant with twins, she dosnt know if she will have the visa or not, she dosnt know when she will come to canada and most important thing that I was not close to here in this important periode.
So if you have the opportunity to apply for a touristic or study visa I encourage you to apply, but as always nothing is 100% sure

i just wanna ask you a question: so is ur wife with you now??did she get a visa to join you? or will she be delivering in lebanon? and congratulations! i hope evthg works gr8 for u guys!

Yes nath my wife is with me again since last month and she will be delivering here in Canada. Yes as I said before she got a study permit to join me here.
I hope you will join your husband very soon.

vivi why dont u try calling Service Canada and see what they say about that. i know they give wrong info sometimes but usually they are pretty good about stuff like that. i think u still have time even if they hold the passport , even so they must make an exception to that and will release it for ur husband to get his visa! i hope ur husband gets the student visa , that wud be awesome for the two of u!

nagz i wudnt worry if u didnt send the original marriage certificate, if they had a problem they wud have informed u about it when they requested further documents from u.

Thanks missbou! :-* Yeah it would be super great, we're just worried about them holding the passport. Yeah you're right I should ask the call center, this is a pretty simple question, they should be able to answer and not make things up!!

I remember that my wife was about to cancel the application as she was fed up and she wanted to go to usa and wait there. So she called the embassy requesting her passport, the lady on the phone told here if you want your passport send us an email and we will let you know when you can come and pick it. But fortunatly the next day they sent an email asking her to go and get her study permit.
