I just started this whole process, so I have a minimum 13 months ahead of me I am already depressed

Damascus embassy better start expediting these applications...or they should hire more ppl!! There is always a way around a problem but unfortunately they do not want to put in effort to help us

I submitted my RQ, my wife's medical exam expires mid November, Do you guys think they will be asking her to redo them ?

Did you submit your RQ by e-mail? I am going to send my RQ and documents by mail, embassy requested some original documents. my medical exam will be expired on December, I will not redo it unless they request.

Background check ? did u mean medical/police clearance ?

Yes, ""background checks"", that's what they exactly said on their email for 4 months (3emails), and now i got an email for Medical renew and police certificate. If they did the background checks, why and why do we have to do the police certificate again???????

I just came from an office who issues the police certificate (Police +10) and it takes 30 days for us to get #$ @ #$# @ .

No wonder people leave this country, i remember 5 years a go i walked in to the police station got my police clearance 1 hour later!!!.(In Canada)

We only have 60 days to reply with requested docs, hope we get it to the embassy before that.

I got that when I called the embassy and she told me that it will be going up to 18 months in the next update on the website for step 2

Mine is going to be 14 soon and probably will hit 16 to 17 by time i get the VISA. So she was right, 18 sounds about the correct processing time.
