Thanks. im sponsoring my wife from Jordan. We were just a lil pleasantly surprised by the request of an updated police record and the perm. residence fee. i asked my lawyer and she said its a "new fee for applications that have been finally approved", but she wouldnt give me a timeline as to when to expect the PPR. anybody had the same thing requested ? and how long have you been waiting ?

Hi Hockeyjunky we got a letter requesting the PR fee back in May. We paid June 6 but they didn't process it until June 27. We've heard nothing since then... Hope for good news for u soon!

Mikey for the question about what you have plans in the future they wanna hear things like my spouse will be taking english classes to better learn the language, I also have a few jobs lined up in the field my spouse works in and ya!!

So guys, what is the best way to send the RQ? Is it enough to send it by email ? or you should send it by courier?

I sent it by mail (post) and email. In the email, I wrote that the original copy was sent by mail to the embassy in Damascus.

I have a suggestion! Lets all add tickers to our signatures, based on the time the application was received in Damascus, not like from the time it was sent or Mississauga received it.
Most of us already have the tickers, it was a suggestion for those who don't. This way we always can see someone's timeline without asking them, or going god knows how many pages back for finding the table!

I paid the PR fee at the bank then sent the bank receipt and another paper that CIC sent with the PR fee request. The two papers were sent to Ottawa then Ottawa forwarded the payment to Syria. Took them 3 weeks to do this process.

Yes, but we didnt pay all the fees at the beginning, only the fee for the sponsorship application. And now, there is the permanent residence fee to pay. I was wondering if we could only pay online via CIC website or we have to send the receipt to Damascus.
