Really? In the email we received they said:

You must send photocopies of the Arabic originals of all documents. Only send ORIGINAL documents when requested. All documents, in a language other than English or French must be accompanied by original certified translations into English or French, except the passport.

It'll be so much easier for us to email the documents since my husband is in the US now... did they mention the same thing when they emailed you requesting the marriage certificate?

My husband is planning to pursue medicine here, he's already completed one of the exams and we've been corresponding with universities.. so we're going to mention that. I think with this question they want to know that you and your spouse have plans to settle in Canada.

The embassy requested similar documents from my husband too. Like you, our file was transferred to Damascus in Jan 2011 and on Tuesday they requested the RQ, copy of marriage certificate as well as proof of military exemption from my husband. Where are you sponsoring your spouse from?

Question: For those who were asked to submit the marriage certificate, did you do so by email or did you mail it to the embassy since they require the original documents of all translated material?

Thanks. im sponsoring my wife from Jordan. We were just a lil pleasantly surprised by the request of an updated police record and the perm. residence fee. i asked my lawyer and she said its a "new fee for applications that have been finally approved", but she wouldnt give me a timeline as to when to expect the PPR. anybody had the same thing requested ? and how long have you been waiting ?

just found this forum recently and decided to jump in

so here's my story, app filed in Dec 2010, transferred to damascus in Jan 2011, then we had heard nothing..till last week !! thats when they requested the RQ, copy of marriage cert., an updated police record, and the "right of perm residence" fee !! all at the same time.

Has anybody had all this requested? any input would be great Thanks a bunch

my husband's address is back on e-cas guys !!! and they updated it to the address i emailed on august 30th !! but they never replied to my emailllllllllllllll lol

i had this conversation with a former member, basically its up to you, she did it both ways which is what i am going to do when i get it, she will sign it scan it and email it and mail it at the same time, just to be sure

I said i did not receive an email like the MP said. My wife appoited a representative, why did not they send the appointed person am email....Any how, RQ is here and thats what matters.

Question: can the appointed person sign the RQ, or should i send it to my wife by mail and she sign it?

the REPRESENTATIVE can sign it, its up to you really in this case

My wife s address also. It s strange, I emailed them to change it several weeks ago (after my wife arrived to canada with her study permit). They are keeping her address in lebanon

whats really weird for me is that there is absolutely no way of knowing how they will contact you for things....... i mean when i read mikey got a LETTER i was shocked, i dont remember the last person who got an ACTUAL RQ rather than an attachment, i mean half of the people here didnt even get the FIRST letter in the mail, its been all emails then in some cases MAIL.... i know they wont mail anything to iran though since there is no mail between syria and iran, just couriers,

PPR: who knows, but i know family friends who got PPR 4 days after the updated police record ! (thru damascus and dubai within the past year). not sure how it is now

We sent the RQ and the other doc's by courier from Jordan. The courier then informed us when the package was received by the embassy, including the name of the person who received it !

CHEER UP january crew...good times are ahead ! This is truly a grueling procedure and a test of every couple's patience, too bad we have to suffer cuz some ppl keep trying to scam the system

anyways, looks like the Dam-Dam embassy is alive and well, at least.
