do they usually ask for updated security check? my husband redid his medical last week but we didn't know if he should redo the security check too. did you get the check all translated and ready to go when they ask? I remember his first check taking almost a month to get sent to him.... maybe he should redo it just in case???

yeah yeah DEFINITELY do the police +10 check,in my case arghavan( my wife) did it on the 27th of December and they just called her today saying it can take another 10 days to receive it( they send it by mail)

I think I will tell my husband to redo it. doesn't hurt to be over prepared I called CIC last week to ask a question and mentioned redoing the medicals without being requested to. the agent was so upset and told me I shouldn't have because sometimes they extend them so I just wasted all that money! I told him I didn't mind and didn't think it was a waste of money if it saved us a month but he was insistent that I shouldn't have "wasted" the money. I don't think they realize how much one month sooner would mean to us!!

haha yeah i said that to many applicants, we had too, it was part of our protocol , at the end of the day maybe 1 person wasted money!

At the moment on the online status application i see Application received. does this change when they request the medicals? e.g. in progress

If I was there I made them to work very hard and finalize files in very short time as before. But we still count on Damascus. Cheer!

hahahahaah arezou jan i tried, i was there for almost 3 months and i couldnt do anything, well i helped a bit but since they knew i was a "sponsor" they took me away from the REAL files

We have always had Senority in this forum, first there was kamal and last there was nagz, i dont want to mention the ones in between because that just takes too long but of the people who have been here in this forum i think i am the one at the moment who has senority,

Sohrab: Since you were in Damascus and work for CIC can you please tell us how the medicals are transfered from Paris to Damascus? is it by doplomatic mail or is there an online system designed for this purpose. I am guessing the later ! I hope this is not a classified information and your answer to this would be useful!
By the way did you have a chance to have dinner at al Garyeh ?

no i didnt have a chance to browse around, i was pretty much stuck at the hotel or the embassy,
anyways the medical results are sent to paris because that is the CPS (central processing system)
they provide embassies with results , in some cases the immigration officer asks for the ACTUAL results but in most cases the green sheet is the GREEN LIGHT to go ahead with the PPR, NOT all medicals are sent to damascus
