Damascus/Spousal since Jan 2010 or late 2009

After 8 months of receiving our documents, we finally heard something from the embassy.

Today they sent an email requesting the Residency Questionnair as well as proof of military exemption what is that??? (My husband is from Syria and is currently a student, so he his not required to do military service at this time).

Any other January applicants finally receive some correspondence?

thats not too bad, atleast they are showing some sign of life haha i remember the days when RQ meant you are days away from ppr haha,

honestly now that i see all this crap with the processing it makes me glad im sponsoring my wife and not the other way, i mean sponsoring a man from the middle east is hell, military this, police record that,work records.. blah blah ..... its a havic,

yes sohrab its easier when u are sponsoring the wife becuz most men have had to travel for work or studies which means more background checks and more delays for us

it looks like we are all getting close inshallah because they started with the year 2011 applications.my husbands cousin was told to redo his medical and come back,and i applied about the same time( feb 7)my application was received in syria.we dont want visas just tell us we exist!bekafee mayteen, ridoolna roohna.

I was going to retain an immigration lawyer to help me out with my wife's application in Damascus office, and when sent him an e-mail on last Sunday he responded with the following:

I have no idea with the problems in Syria, I think they are not working fast. You should contact your local member of parliament who can send an email to the embassy for you!

If a lawyer says that, what should we say about Damascus office?! I think that office is one of the worst offices in whole world we have ever heard about!

yestrday my brother in law recieved a call from my mp office telling him that my wife medical test will expire on sept 23
and they will not call me back until 3 months ???
