My wife and I send each other text messages in Arabic. Now, I am trying to transfer them to my PC. Well, I was able to transfer the messages; however, the text being was not displayed incorrectly (Funny Character - byte code). I am sure I need to install something on my PC. I tried to install the Arabic language on my PC but it doesn't work. I do have Blackberry bold 9000.

ok....i was able to figure out, how can i extract Arabic(or any other language) from blackberry (any model).

you have to install the desktop manager. Now you create back up file, it will create .ipd file.

Now download berry magic or bb Extractor orany other programs that parse .ipd file. write the output to text file.

Download any program that reads txt. the one i always use is notepad++ , change the encoding to Arabic-1256. Done!


Disadvantage: it only show the other party phone number
2. messages are not sorted.

sorry guys, i forgot to tell you that I called my MP yesterday and asked him about RQ. He told me they only send such form if they think the sponsor is not living in Canada?

that's weird i m a canadian citizen i ve lived here all my life since i was 3 and never lived anywhere else and they still sent it to me.

i am canadian citizen too. I lived in Lebanon till i was 16. did you send them your tax return?did you send them your letter of employment?if yes, does it have the name and address of the company?did you translate one or more document in Canada?did you make the payment in the bank?

he might be wrong though....or it might be new procedures....
yalla lets hope that we see some PPR(s) this week

non............ well they never asked me for any of this. no tax return no letter of employment. all i did is just write where I work on the application. yes nchallah next week better news. I think it will be a short week no cuz of canada day?

I am a programmer so i found the steps easy to follow. Do you need to back them up any time soon?if the embassy asks you to show them some text messages, we can do something about it.

yay i cant go to iran.... its official,the embassy told me if i go i might have to stay for like 3 months for the foreign affairs department to get me out...... so i had to cancel my ticket.. pay a fee and more important than all that accept a crappy birthday present which is not being able to see my wife..... sigh... i am so disappointed that i dont even feel sad.... oh well, anyways, i hope everyone is well, it seems we all had a bad week.... 1 ppr and lots of disappointments :'(

Are you a student? Why don't you contact sefarat in Ottawa and ask them to give you a temporary mashmool mohr. It's only good for 1 trip and it is valid for 2 months in Iran...I had a regular mashmool as a student but since I was in Iran already 2 times in 1 year, I asked for an exemption. I said it was for "kheir" reasons as my wife and I have been apart for x amount of time. They gave it within 2 weeks via registered mail.

I got it too and my nationality is Canadian, as is my parents and my parents parents and my parents parents parents......you get the idea...... I think Damascus is sending it to everyone regardless. to make sure we are paying our taxes and not on any government assistance. Don't worry guys

One of my mom's clients was sponsoring his life from lebanon. His timeline was about the same as mine maybe a bit earlier. anyway today I asked her so how is his application coming along.
she goes oh didn't I tell you he divorced his wife I was like wow ok. so much for lifetime vows. :-\

well, in my opinion what u said is not quite right!. Letter of employment from canadian company/organization would prove that ur residing in Canada. Doing your yearly taxes would not, since you can be working outside Canada. you should claim the income even if your outside Canada.

Well, that's only my guess...let's see...we dont care whether they ask for RQ or not. The point is to get PPR
