CSQ question for filling in generic application form

Hi there - I am a Canadian residing in Quebec and intending to sponsor my wife to get her PR in Canada. We will be residing in quebec which means we also need to apply for CSQ.

I know we need to file application for CSQ since we will be residing in Quebec. Based on all I have read, we can only submit the CSQ application together with my Quebec undertaking form, which we can only submit once we get my accepted by CIC and can provide the Quebec authorities a copy of the email confirming this sponsorship is accepted.

But we also need to submit my completed application to the CIC together with his application to sponsor her as far as I understand. And on the generic application form, question 7 asks if I have received my CSQ (no, since I can't have submitted it yet) and then, if not, what date I applied for it. But I can't have applied for it yet, right? Or do I have to submit the Generic application for Permanent residency when I first apply for Mississauga? I feel I must be missing something and would be very grateful for any guidance!

Hi.. You must apply in CIC first before you can apply in MICC for your CSQ.. Because the Approval Letter from the CIC of the Sponsor is a requirement when you're applying for CSQ.. In the Generic form just check NO and leave the dates blank.. Hope it helps.. Good Luck..

and btw I called CIC about the same question, and they told me to just write: awaiting for sponsorship approval, and since I have been on this forum, I also read that you can leave it blank and it will become gray....so don't worry about it, they will know that nothing can be put there yet because you live in Quebec....!!! Above is a discussion about CSQ too, because IvanP wrote something really interesting after you receive your approval from MICC...so hope it helps too!!

Another question that worries me is, do I pay all application fees at once or leave the $490 day landing fee to be paid upon request. I know it mentions it will make things easier…just want to know everyones experience.

Another question that worries me is, do I pay all application fees at once or leave the $490 day landing fee to be paid upon request. I know it mentions it will make things easier...just want to know everyones experience.

if you can, pay everything upfront. It will save time at the end of the process. If you have to wait until your VO opens the application, request the fee, then gets the notification that you have paid etc, it might delay the visa for 3 to 4 weeks.

I already paid everything at once, no hassle, no prolonging it....and Sweden is right better off paying upfront!!!

Sweden, your timeline is very good. My spouse is going through Abu Dhabi, plus she has to get a CSQ. It might not cause a problem because she studied there. The only catch is getting her PCC through saudi. Read on previous threads that its a headache and a half.

I didn't go through Quebec so I'm not familiar with the CSQ but from what I understand it's not a problem, and it doesn't delay your file : you apply for it once the stage 1 is done, and it gets sent to your VO. By the time an officer actually looks at the file, the CSQ is usually issued as it takes 30 days more or less.
The PCC are always more of a headache, and they need to reach CIC within 3 months of being issued, so it's worth timing it properly.

Hi !!

YES YES you need to send sponsorship & PR and everything on that checklist. BTW when stage 1 will be approved, you will need to send CSQ application. I read on one thread that when CSQ sends you the approval, just in case scan it and send it to your VO!!!
