Hi Kevin,

I am sorry I am really not sure of this. If you're applying outland and sending the application from UK I'd think then UK would be your current country of residence? I don't know if you have seen the Guide to Immigration on CIC's page, here's the link: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/3999Etoc.asp . Maybe it helps...
There are a lot of people who know so much on this forum, I'm sure someone else will know what to put!
Good luck and don't worry, one day all of this is behind us :)

As you are legally admitted to Canada as visitor your country of current residence ( not country of origin or citizenship)is Canada. Your country of residence is the country in which you are residing, provided that you have been lawfully admitted to that country.

If you are returning to UK and residing there till the completion of process of the sponsorship/PR, you may mention country of residence - UK and give the address in UK.

Agreed. Not canada as you said when you send the application, you won't be there anymore. Uk is your residential address.

I'm in the UK for a few weeks and will return to canada , to be with my wife in " Canada status is a visitor "

I'll be in Canada while my PR is being processed

I will send the PR application from here in England with all forms and proofs ( including all my wifes stuff )

I put Canada as my residence and left the date blank. I added a note after my forms with additional information for various questions. For that question, I noted I was currently in Canada. You could do something similar.

doing the form online it won't allow me to leave it blank?

will there be a issue if I just put it as england? and just write a note saying I selected england as I'm here now and will be visiting my wife in a few weeks time?

as I have left canada now and Q10 doesn't work with Canada in there now.. and I'm in the UK as of now and the application will go from UK kind of makes sense to put England down I think..I have all the proof I have been there with my wife have our names on a condo and so on.

Yeah, it really does NOT matter which way you put it, you won't MESS up your form! They'll get the picture when they sort through everything. Seriously!

You could put Canada or England. In either case you should attach a separate sheet explaining the situation. Since the forms won't let you put Canada, put England, but add a separate explanation that you have been living in Canada as a visitor with your wife since ... and will be going back there to live with her on a visitor basis on date .....
