oh no! I lost my credit card 2 days ago so CIC can not charge my credit card.
do you think it is better to resend my application now?

Have you already sent your application? Having lost your card does not mean CIC cannot process it. They do not need your card physically. Having said that, if you report the card lost and tell your credit card provider, then they will cancel the card so no one can use it.

I have already sent my application. Also, my bank has canceled my credit card so that no one can use it
Right now my documents are in Sydney with no valid credit card information in them

- what is your NOC ?
- which date was your application received by CIC ?

based upon the above two answers, you can determine if it's not too late to send a revised fee payment form to CIC.

Hi Nishesh,

Been following this post. Like asianati, I have also lost my credit card that I provided in the Fee Payment Form. The following are the details of my application:

App Received by CIC : 5th June 2014
NOC : 2173
New Fee Processing Form [with new credit card details] received at CIC : 19th August 2014

Based on this information, can you explain what you infer and tell me the chances of CIC making use of the new credit card details if and when processing happens?

Regards...

Hello

NOC 2173 is relatively hot. If CIC goes by what other people have experienced in the past, then your application filed date will be pushed from June 5th to August 19th which means your application falls behind the queue, all of this assuming that CIC is able to add the revised fee payment from to your initial application.

Good luck!

If CIC goes by what other people have experienced in the past

Thanks for your reply. I understand that previous history might have shown that CIC would push my application to August 19th as thats when they got a hold of a valid payment instrument. But previously, how did they come to know that there is an update in the credit card information which is received on a later date? How did they know that the transaction is going to fail for the originally sent application and keep aside that application [without returning it] for later processing?

Unfortunately, I lost my credit card on August 3rd and applied for a new one without realizing that this was the one I had provided to CIC :-[

CIC does not and will not know anything until you send the additional documents. The envelope should contain the title - "additional documents". Assuming you are a first time application and do not have a UCI# - you have to provide all the details that you can including your initial application's tracking#, delivery date and time, carrier, your Passport details etc and "hope" that CIC is able to get it done for you.

Unfortunately, there is no guarantee. Thanks to the paper based system.

how possible it is that they respond to such and envelope?

Close to a nil chance that the envelope will be "married up" to your application. CIC is not going to spend the time searching through unopened applications just for you.

Thanks for all the replies.

It looks that the chances are bleak and the app needs a lot of luck to make it.

One more thought. it has been stated in the CIC application guide that the PCC need not be sent initially when the applucation is sent. And that it cab be sent at a later point in time. What if I send another package with the pcc and the new credit card details and clearly state on the package as nishesh pointed out, that the package contains additional documents (pcc documents) of so and so applicant. Do you think that in such a case, CIC will take the burden of marrying the new documents with the original application?
