I'm /thinking/ that they called because my husband was in Canada for three years and they wanted to verify that he was back in Canada. They would have had his bosses contact information as we included it with the file simply because he'd been in Canada. But I find it really strange that they've already called. I ordered the case notes to check into it after he told me.

Hey, I'd take it as a good thing no matter what. They've at least looked at your file, and haven't found anything missing/wrong in the process. Silver lining: your application isn't buried like most of ours. Whether it's IP or not, you've at least got confirmation that someone's seen it. :P

Ugh this is killing me! It's been 6 weeks since IP. I know you can't go off of how long it took for others, but let's get this show on the road! Where the heck is everyone's DM?!?

Tell me about it..

Yea its been like 8 weeks for me. LOL bet you the application is still collecting dust. :-X

I hope you guys get it soon :( I know nothing I can say will make the wait any more bearable; it's a lot easier to offer reassurance on this side of having a DM. I too felt hopeless like it would never come but it finally did, so hang in there. I'm an early February applicant so your guys' just has to come soon.

I'm still clinging onto the hope we're going to see an absolute bundle of DM's all of a sudden.

Obviously CIC moves in mysterious ways but I just can't see the logic in seemingly moving a load of folk towards the latter stages of processing in the last 6-8 weeks (all the doc requests, etc) and then leaving them sitting in a pile somewhere.

I'm totally expecting a bunch of us getting DM together. I just hate seeing people get it under a month from IP and we're going on 6 weeks as well. Hopefully we hear something before Thanksgiving! And I'm not buying the whole Tuesday thing, I've seen others have their status change on other days.

Well, tomorrow's another day I suppose! Positive thoughts!

Mine changed on a Saturday. The Tuesday thing is crap.

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for everyone.

Yeah Sunday-Tuesday seems to be a dead zone for updates but I've seen folk report ECAS changing on every single other day of the week so goodness knows what the "we update on a Tuesday" thing is all about

I read somewhere on here recently that they update ecas every day following a business day. So Tuesday through Saturday we could see potential case status updates.

Hey guys,

New to the forum! Long time reader, first time poster! ;)
Going through this process with my husband (an American).

We just submitted our application in July. We received our SA on Sept. 22. Today I logged into our account to check our status. It states:

1. We received ***'s application for permanent residence on July 21, 2015.
2. We started processing ***'s application on September 28, 2015.

I know this is WAY to soon to start thinking positive.. but why is it saying his application is already being processed? From what I read in the past this is typically a good sign, and something I was expecting way down the road. I'm assuming this is a false alarm and I should keep my expectations low and my patience high? Any other July applicants receiving the same status?

Cheers,

I don't want to bring you down, but we are still stuck on IP and our line says:

We started processing ***'s application on January 13, 2015.

That line appeared on August 6th when we got changed to IP along with a bunch of others.

That being said, we are Nov 2014 applicants and many that applied after us have already got a DM so maybe we are just unlucky :(

Good luck, and welcome to the horrid waiting game, keep us updated eh

It seems like they Ottawa overhauled what IP really stands for which is when the file was actually transferred to Ottawa, does not mean any processing has started on the application, I think May,June,July applicants are reading too much into this status. Likely there were pressured from outside sources to update ECAS more frequently which is why a ton of people saw "IP" on august 6th and are continuing to see it going forward but in reality it means absolutely nothing.

Good luck, and welcome to the horrid waiting game, keep us updated eh

I have only recently realized that it is possible to register as a non-client of Canadavisa on this forum. Reading posts in the forum have proven to be hugely informative, while it provides valuable shared experiences in the process of waiting for DM. We applied in Feb 2015 and received IP on Aug 25. Fortunate to be in Canada on a PGWP while waiting.
