Your timeline is mostly normal I think. My wife got PPR on July 12th last year. She got an eCAS update on August 14th and CoPR in the mail on August 15th.

But she sent in passport copy via e-mail. I assume you had to send in your photos via regular mail. That may delay things a bit. Did they ask for photos because the photos you sent in with your application where the wrong specifications?

The photos weren't with my application, at least not the ones for the PR card. I didn't realize the photos were supposed to go with it because I think we used to old checklist they had.

At 9 days, I wouldn't worry about the delay. But don't assume that because they wanted you to respond quickly, and you did respond quickly, that they will also respond quickly. It takes CIC a while to sort out everything they get in the mail, and for the photos to get to the right officer's desk. In our case it took several months after they got the photos (which they lost the first time around) to issue COPRs, but that was unusually long, and they were also looking for proof that we were going to reside in Canada. But nine days is nothing to worry about, and well within the normal range for CIC.

Thank you. I appreciate you taking the time to quell my worry a bit. :)

Congratulation!
Comparing your timeline and mine, I may have to wait another 4-5 months, sign..

Have you had any correspondence at all?

My status just changed to DM but have not received PPR. I am nervous, should I be worried. I have seen mix posts where some people received PPR before DM and some people status changed to DM and then they received PPR. I have recently won an appeal, then submitted updated forms, reassessment of medical, Police certificate. But they did not ask me anything else I wouldn't understand of the deny us again without showing any negative concerns .... I am really worried. please help..

Not at all, we send multiple emails to LA but they just ignore us.

there's really nothing anyone can do to "help". no one's going to be able to tell you what it means or why DM came first. we are not immigration officers handling your file. the applicant will receive and email or regular mail soon. Getting DM before the PPR is not uncommon, so all you can do is wait until the visa office gets in touch.

Today I received my temporary resident extension. I've had my stay extended to October 23rd 2015. Yay.

So we're leaving Canada in December to be home with my Family for Christmas. . . .I know this document doesn't authorize re-entry into Canada, but once I'm back in Canada, does this extension cancel out? Or will I go back to having my initial 6 months OR whenever they've told me I need to be out by?

For various reasons, we've had multiple Visitor Record extensions over the last almost-five-years. We've gone to the U.S. once or twice each year for weekend visits with family and it's always been an easy process. We renewed it each time on the day it ran out (usually for 1 year lately).

No, a Visitor Record doesn't authorize re-entry into Canada, but if you haven't committed crimes or acquired a deadly contagious disease during your time out of Canada, it's not likely you'll be denied re-entrance into Canada. What that message is trying to say is that it doesn't give you an automatic right to re-entry. You only have a right to enter if you're a permanent resident or a citizen.

As to whether you start a new six-month visit when you return, I don't know the proper answer to that, but I think it's safer to assume that you are not starting a new visit at that time, but rather just continuing the visit that you've been given an extension for.

This matters to me because I've just sent off the RPRF and CSQ for my partners' application and I really don't want to have to spend another $150 to extend it in January when his VR expires if I don't have to. We will be visiting family in the U.S. in mid-December, so an automatic (free) 6 month extension (or new visit) from then would be great.

It seems that the Ottawa office has been quiet lately. Has anyone heard any good news about their PR this month?

No news here :( We are nearly a month past the bring forward date on the additional documentation they requested (Statutory Declaration of Common-law Union), documentation they have now had for nearly three months. ECAS is unchanged, stuck at "application received". We received SA on August 1st.

It's possible they sent your application to LA which would explain the delay. Hopefully not, but its what they did to mine last January 2014 and we are still waiting for finalization. >:(

My family's got stuck at CPP-Ott for 4 months after we sent them the information they requested (additional proof of intent to reside plus visa photos (which they had apparently lost)). Never did figure out why it took so long, but we got the COPRs eventually. Maybe your VO is on maternity leave, or checked out... (...and into a psychiatric clinic...), or is playing Minecraft a lot at work instead of looking at applications? You'll probably never find out.
