I have a question....general background again first...visa office is Ottawa..my husband got PPR on Aug.12th..we sent that in along with proof of communication and the orginal FBI check(he sent in a copy by mistake)...he redid his medicals as doctor and immigration lost them...they were received Oct 29...according to gcms notes it looks like his application went into process on Oct.31...he is planning on moving here middle of december regardless....question is should we update his address to mine here in Ontario now or wait to see if he receives his COPR by the time he plans to move..and would it make a difference if we change his address to mine even though he would still be living there for another month...thanks in advance for the help

You can change the mailing address to yours anytime. And, if the CoPR is issued soon, you may be to get it to him faster if you courier it to him vs. waiting for regular mail to make it to the US. Keep in mind that he can't 'move' until after he lands (the earliest he may process his B4 as a settler and move his belongings is when he lands).

Yes I know he can't "move" until he gets his COPR we were just going to store his stuff across the river in Port Huron..then he can flagpole and bring the lists of his goods to follow as we will probaly move it over some at a time as we can...and thanks for the help...and hoping since his gcms notes say recommend pass and looks like it started being in process oct 31 we won't have to wait much longer anyway.

Those of us waiting for COPR, has anyone emailed to check on the COPR status and have they replied? I'm so anxious but I am more worried about bugging them.

We received sponsorship approval on April 25th. It has been almost 7 months now, but we have not heard anything from them. Most people have received their COPR by now. We are really worried but don't want to bug them. Even if they contact us with anything, it will be a sense of relief that our file is in progress.

Has anyone contacted CPP about status of their file if their timelines were longer than others?

I heard that if you are within the timeline they put on website (is it still 14 months?) they won't do anything when you contact them....but you can order their progress notes for $5 to see the progress they are making...if any...and could reveal some of the details of what they have done so far with your file. We considered it prior to our ppr.

Also, if you/your partner (whichever of you lives in Canada now) contacts your MP, the MP's office can get details that we don't get while we're waiting. (I assume it's similar to the information found in progress notes, but you don't have to pay for it.)

My husband called his MP several months ago, and they were able to tell us that they were working on the medicals, but hadn't started on the security stuff yet. The woman at the MP's office suggested checking back in December, so we plan to do that if we haven't heard anything by then.

I had assumed that they would have finished with that before they make a PPR. ???

the medicals. I assumed they finish processing the application and have made a decision before they do a ppr.
