the medicals. I assumed they finish processing the application and have made a decision before they do a ppr.
Some VOs request passports very early in the process, so for sure they don't finish processing prior to PPR

The medicals were done some time ago (we called the MP's office nearly 5 months ago). I just got the PPR last month.

Though ECAS hasn't changed to "Decision Made" (or even "In Process" yet), so I'm not totally sure where they are with it. It still says "Application Received." But the interview has been waived, so I'm pretty confident we're just waiting on paperwork now.

Hi everyone! I'm part of the AUGUST 2013 OUTLAND group (CPP-O). Got 3 questions.

1) Who's manning the CPP-O spreadsheet and how do I get added on?

2) Our application to sponsor my husband from the States has now been underway for 4 months and counting. If he is able to land a job offer from a Canadian employer BEFORE his COPR is granted, let's say, a TN Visa, is it correct to assume that all I have to do is change his U.S. mailing address to my Canadian one and just let the PR sponsorship application continue as is?

3) What is the latest updates in terms of folks from CPP-O getting asked for passport or receiving COPR letters lately? I check the CPP-O s/s all the time and it seems to have stalled at MAY 2013 OUTLAND applicants. Can anyone share their latest progress if you are a May or June 2013 outland sponsor?

Thanks!

Yes. This is called "dual intent" and is fine with CBSA and CIC.

CPP-O seems to be looking at applications after about 6 months, so early processing time (20/30% app times) are running around 8 months.

Would the same be true if my husband is planning to attend University in Canada? He could apply for a student visa and have his PR application proceed at the same time?

Yes. Note that the standards for determining if he can be given a student visa (or a visitor record) will be the same as if he were not a pending PR, so he does need to demonstrate financial ability, etc.

Aside: Some Universities in Canada do qualify under US Title IV and thus US citizens can take out student loans (if needed).

My wife landed in YYZ yesterday Thanksgiving night! Much to be thankful for. We were arriving from vacation in Europe. The landing was relatively smooth. It was the long lines that was the only pain (some big international fights arrived just before us). The landing itself only took about 5 minutes. The officer asked my wife a few questions, looked over her COPR, wrote down our address on the COPR and had her sign in a few places. However, I was glad i was watching because the officer forgot to write down the postal code for the address so I pointed that out and he then added it in. Important to pay attention during landing! Anyway otherwise it was fine and the officer was polite and professional. Then he pointed us to the next kiosk where my wife got her SIN number (another 5 minutes). Then they pointed us to a booth to get a bunch of pamphlets and books on settling in Canada. Though she doesn't need it since she has me, it was nice have them welcome her and get the materials. Then it was off to baggage claim where we had to go to the second room there so they can inspect her bags. Again the wait took forever, but once we actually were able see an official, it took just 2 minutes for him to ask a few questions, quickly glance at the B4 form, and we were on our way.

So the landing took about 90 minutes, of which 12 minutes was the actual landing and the other 78 minutes of waiting in line!

What a relief this is over!

Thanks for the information!

I suspect - but do not know - that CPP-O resources have been moved to assisting Manila. That's what CPP-O was originally: a specialized resource they could use to target specific offices (e.g., Islamabad) or situations (e.g., successful appeals). Thus, it seems likely that they have shifted some resources to helping Manila work through the new priority applications from people impacted by the typhoon.

we were talking about that today (my wife & I) and wondering the same thing. It doesn't make the wait any easier though. We were hoping to land before Christmas.
