In process means that an officer actually reviewed your file. You will receive a request for something from the office: evidence the RPRF has been paid, the passport (copies usually), an RCMP fingerprint based report, etc. Ideally, it would be the PPR, because that means you're all but finished.timelady said:

Thanks for clarifying. We applied on April 5, 2013. Unfortunately have not received a Passport request yet. GCMS notes look good, but it seems that they just havent started our Security/Criminal piece. So wasn't sure how the "In Process" ties to the Passport Request.timelady said:

If they want the actual passport they will request it. If only a copy is needed, they will request a copy and tell you which pages they want. Someone from a Visa Exempt country like the US only needs to send a copy of picture page and various pages that have been stamped for entry and exist.
