Sounds like the lawyer is basically saying "I don't know when it will come so don't pester me". Not very good customer service.
Exactly, I guess the price I pay for paying the fees all up front. But I guess I should just be thankful he answers my emails in timely manner. I know some peole have had really bad luck with communication with their attorneys. >:( >:(

As long as he responds to your emails in a timely manner, that's all you can really ask for. I think we all now realize that the sponsorship timeline is just one big crapshoot.

This is so very true. I will sit back and try to relax while I wait (impatiently). I'm just glad to see so much movement the past week!!

Yeah, that's true. The lawyer probably also does not want to make any promises. I remember my wife kept asking me after we mailed out the application roughly when can she expect to have her COPR and all I could say was that it is in the hands of CIC and I have no idea.

Well that's exciting!!!! Still says application received for me, but they did update my address (sent them an email to change it last week) so I guess that's something. LOL

Whatever, so happy for Ivan!!!!!!!! :D

Ditto for me too. I think we're the only ones left who are long overdue (granted you much more so than I). Here's hoping we get something this week. Especially since my meds expire on the 28th...

Thanks! Hopefully yours will be soon too - you've been waiting longer than I have since PPR...

I didn't notice you've been waiting a few months too. Fun times, isn't it? ;) Hope you hear some movement soon!

My family's meds expire on the 28th too. It's a screwed-up process, isn't it?

My job has been good enough to keep me on since my "last day" at the end of June. After next week I'm done for good and if I don't have COPR in hand yet I'm going to "visit" until the process is over.

+1 for the "visitation" plan.

Not being legally able to work makes the vacation much more guilt-free.

I'm NAFTA eligible, however the NAFTA visa is solely a temporary visa and therefore the applicant cannot have immigrant intent (at least when coming to the States, and so I imagine it's the same going to Canada) - which makes my vacation even more guilt-free!

I'm assuming meds only last a year. If that's the case mine were expired back in May. That may add a little more excitement to an already drawn out process. Ha That didn't even cross my mind. ::)
