So they want the following -

• COPY OR SCANNED IMAGE of your passport and passports of your accompanying family members, as noted below.
• Please provide information/ details as to your intent to reside permanently in Canada

They also say that "If no original documents have been requested, you may submit copies of your documents by mail, by fax, or as scanned images attached to an email to CPP-O at the contact information noted below" - I'm assuming we're in this category, and replying to the email with a high-quality JPG of the passport scan and a PDF with her intention to reside permanently should suffice! (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

Nothing but silence from CIC for almost 6 months so needless to say we're pretty happy today.
Congrats on getting PPR! You're almost done now! =) I believe you're correct about the high quality jpeg and such.

Also, I noticed you weren't on the Ottawa spread sheet so I hope you don't mind that I added you, there is a link in my signature if you'd like to see, maybe it will help you keep an eye on the other June applicants who are also going through Ottawa so you'll know a timeframe that you might get your COPR by =)

All right! Finally some good news...no interview needed, guess we're on the home stretch now! E-cas still hasn't changed.

They want a scanned image of the passport along with "information/details as to your intent to reside permanently in Canada" - so what's that, just a statement of where she'll live?
Congrats! Based on your timing, that means I should be checking my email on Wednesday :)

Congratulations! Long periods of silence are exactly how things work if there are no problems. Then an officer looks at your file and says "done, let's get this person a visa!"

Yes, a JPG or PDF works fine. Apparently they use one of the photographs you submitted with the original application to affix to the CIC copy of the COPR.

I hope that means my application also has no problems =) But mine has only been there since late October so I think I still have some time to be afraid of an interview =(

The letter from work is a really good idea - include the business card of whoever wrote it. Did you get (or can you get) confirmation from the utility companies that you set up the utilities for your new address (or changed billing address)? If any of your bank accounts are new can you get a letter from the bank indicating that? If you were leasing your home, can you show the lease has ended? Think through your day - who sees you regularly or knows you've moved back - gym memberships? Do you have credit/debit card paystubs for things you've paid that would require you to be in Canada (e.g., groceries, gas, Tim Hortons)? Have you signed up for health care now that you're back?

Also, if you haven't changed your address with CIC yet, consider doing so to give added weight to the change.
Thank you for your reply, I have come to see how complex this is. This is what we have gathered so far- We own our home both in us and Canada so that leaves out lease. however, we have Ontario Hydro bills for 2 year, my husband moved back Jan 2011. We have Bell bills, Shaw direct bills, TD bank statements, all 2 yrs, and Propane bills for only a few months as we haven't been keeping them, plus they are lwo because he uses wood. He has a copy of his gym membership, TD Visa for 2 years with local purchases. We have a letter from our neighbor, my husbands son and sister. A copy of his T4, plus 1 year of pay stubs, a ROE because his job is seasonal. We have another home here in the states that is a rental, which shows up as rental income on his option C. So we are including two copies of leases for the house we have rented here to prove we we not renting the house in Ontario. Is there anything else that we might need to include. The threat of being denied because of this is very upsetting. his Canadian address was on the application. He does have his OHIP card and has used it, not sure how to document that. I just want to have as much info as I can in order to make this indisputable. Thanks

Got a reply from Ottawa stating that they need proof that I(sponsor) live and work in Ontario now. I made the move beginning of Jan. Any opinions of what I should send. I have a letter from work saying I am working there, I have my bank account info. I have no pay stubs yet. or T4's since 2010.

Received a similar email today stating my Canadian Citizen husband sponsor needs to show more proof of residency, We will be sending pay stubs, bank statements, T4 from last year. some of our utility bills have a US address as they were being sent to me to pay, but the service was in Canada. what else can we send to establish residency. The email says Driver's license property tax assessments and SSI cards are insufficient.
Not happy tonight Sad
Was the sponsor living outside of Canada when the application was submitted? I find all this very strange... I understood that the sponsor is not required to live in Canada, only to be able to prove intent to return to reside in Canada. I have seen on these forums where at the time of the PPR, CIC will ask for updated information about the plan to return to reside in Canada, but I have never seen where they want proof that the sponsor has already made the move. Unless I am misunderstanding, and the sponsor said they were living in Canada when the application was filed and something has led CIC to think that might not be the case? Or, perhaps, did the sponsor say they were living outside Canada at the time of application, but said they would be moving back on a specific date, and CIC is wanting to confirm that took place?

I am the Canadian sponsor currently living with my husband in the US....I did not think I would be required to move back PRIOR to my husband's application being approved. I thought we could move together when he received his COPR.

Perhaps some Senior members can clarify for me.
Many thanks,
Annie

On my application I stated he was living in Canada at the time of application, which he was, and apparently something has caused them to want more proof of his residency. My understanding. Really a surprise to me as well

Very very strange.. who knows what CIC is thinking sometimes :( I think your evidence list is pretty inclusive... I can't think of anything more you could include. (Maybe it was on an earlier posting I missed, but does he have car registration/insurance to include?)

Good luck to you.

Sounds like you have lots of evidence. Totally understand wanting to ensure you provide a very solid case. For the gym, ask if they can print out a list of dates he has actually gone to the gym (perhaps a screen shot from their internal system if they don't have an actual report they can print out). Definitely include the visa statements with local purchases. Can you get a letter from his employer that his job is IN Canada (in addition to the paystubs?)

To help the Officer go through it all, I would also include a list of all the evidence you are submitting (detail it out to list the period covered by each statement, for example) so that they can quickly review the list and then dive into whatever components they want.

ETA: Let's keep the conversation going over in the US Outland thread (http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/us-outland-applicants-thread-t106068.1455.html) - just saw the parallel conversation there.

Hi Guys, I just had a quick question and I'm hoping someone can help. We are currently in the 2nd stage of the process and our application is in Ottawa. I've been checking Ecas regularly and it just says "application received" and "medicals received" however I just noticed today that it says that my husband's application for permanent residence was received on July 30th. I received sponsorship approval in October and then it was transferred to Ottawa right after. So I was just wondering why it says that our application for permanent residence was received on July 30th instead of October 12th. The application was received in Mississauga on July 30th. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It's misleading because mine says something similar :-X Even though my application was forwarded to my VO until a couple of months after.

Assuming you sent both your application for sponsorship AND the Permanent Residency application at the same time, ecas will show the date they received that package in CPC-M. It won't show the date your application was sent to / received by CPP-O.

Given the number of people who receive communication from the VO (information requests, passport request, etc) prior to any update of ecas, I've stopped bothering to log on to ecas. I think once you know they have your application and medicals - checking ecas everyday like I used to is a waste of time.

I agree! We got PPR back on the 12th of December and ecas hasn't changed from application received! I think that we will be landed and it will still say application received...lol
