I am sponsoring my wife from the US and when I log into ecas her maiden name shows up as opposed to her new last name. Is that common or?
Also, congrats kfair001

Done! So glad to see July applicants getting PPR (especially since your sponsorship was approved 10 days before my family's!).kfair001 said:REQUEST FOR DOCUMENTS AND PASSPORT COPIES
Dear XXXXXXXXXXXX:
This is in reference to your application for permanent residence in Canada as a member of the family class. We have now completed the initial assessment of your application, and expect to finalize your application without a personal interview. While an interview does not appear necessary at this time, we reserve the right to call you to an interview, should this become necessary at some future stage in processing.
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BEFORE PROCEEDING FURTHER. YOUR APPLICATION WILL BE FINALIZED BY THE CASE PROCESSING PILOT – OTTAWA (“CPP-O”).
In order to continue processing your application, the following is required:
COPY OR SCANNED IMAGE of your passport and passports of your accompanying family members, as noted below.
Please provide details/information/proof/plans as to your intent to permanently reside in Canada
What kind of "details/information/proof/plans" do they need? Any incite would be great.
IvanP, could you update the spreadsheet again ...PRR
we sent in a letter from my dad restating that yes we are able to live with him once we move up to Canada (he had written a letter that we sent in with our application) and saying that he is offering and that I have accepted to an apprenticeship in his company. I also had a letter that I wrote saying what things we have done and are doing to get ready for our move like selling and packing our house up, getting our children's Canadian Citizenship certificates and whatnot.kfair001 said:REQUEST FOR DOCUMENTS AND PASSPORT COPIES

Congrats by the way!! On the PPR and the no interview bit!
Congrats!! That's awesome =Daerogurl87 said:So still no news from CIC, but I hope they hurry up and start giving out more PPRs. Especially since I have to now save for a wedding since my boyfriend and I just got engaged today.
Thanks. I think I'm going to order mine at the beginning of next week. My medicals expire in April and we are going on vacation then, so I'm hoping they will send me my COPR by then.Shylox said:Congrats!! That's awesome =D
Also, I think I'm going to order my GCSM notes this week, just to see if there's been any progress, I'm mostly just curious to see if they've done anything with my application yet.
This looks like PPR to me (I'll update the spreadsheet). It seems a little weird that they are looking for sponsor financial information after your sponsor has been approved, but what do I know? I would send it by email and mention that you'd be happy to send hard copies if necessary, but it shouldn't be because they are asking for copies, not originals.emily_anya said:Hi....I got some correspondence finally from Ottawa (I'm a July 2012 applicant) ! not sure if its good or bad though...here is what is says...
Dear XXXXX :
This is in reference to your application for permanent residence in Canada. In order for us to continue the processing of your application, we require the following documents:
Ø RPRF, Family Class: Have your sponsor pay the Right of Permanent Residence fee in Canada. This must be received at this office by: 03/31/2013
Ø Income, proof: Proof of income for your sponsor. This includes, but is not limited to, employment letters, paystubs, tax documentation, bank statements, etc. This must be received at this office by: 03/31/2013
Ø Copy of your passport. This must be received at this office by: 03/31/2013
Please note:
All documents must be accompanied by English or French translations. When original documents are requested, notarised documents are not acceptable."
Is it acceptable to email scanned documents of everything? I'm assuming if they are asking me to pay the right of PR fee then its a good sign right? anyone had similar experience?
Thanks!!!
Thank you for updating the spreadsheet IvanP! and congratulations Emily_anya! This is good news for all Ottawa applicants.IvanP said:This looks like PPR to me (I'll update the spreadsheet). Thanks for your reply! Yes I thought it was only Mississauga that needed financial info for the sponsor (and he was approved by them obviously). But I guess I will send some more info if that's what they want! When they ask for a copy of my passport...its just the page with my photo on right? How come sometimes they ask for the actual passport and sometimes only a copy? (I must hae sent about 5 copies of the picture page in with my application too...) Do you think that they will delay my case now because I have to send them additional docs? I am going to send everything by email tomorrow.IvanP said:This looks like PPR to me (I'll update the spreadsheet).
