I got a full on letter and my whole entire application back saying they needed some documents completed and it was rejected/incomplete until I resent. But I think it had a date of end of March some time. Thanks for the prayers, on the upside, my husband also told Ottawa about my baby due in August so maybe he noted that. Fingers crossed.
holy moly! well then, yeah, perhaps they are considering it a brand new applicaiton that was received on march 28. looking at it from that perspective, you aren't so far out of normal processing time.

I sent out application back in August and the end of September we received our package back along with a letter stating we were missing documents as well. I resent in October and that reset the process so my date on file is now October instead of August.

What confuses me is the way it was written was to just resend everything and it continues like if a person was missing documents ( like they hadn't done their police certificate yet) the wording was a little weird, that's why I'm confused.

Those who have PR and have Landed?
How long did it take to get the actual PR card in the mail? I got PR at the border on March 7th and haven't gotten anything in the mail... Where did they mail your PR Card (Canada or your country or origin?). How long did it take to get to you?

I am slightly freaking out cause it has been almost 3 months and I haven't gotten it...???

planning for 11-06-2014!!!
Landing in about 2 weeks! :D
Just wondering about the car import... My car title and registration is under my maiden name and my COPR/new passport is in my married name. Will this be a problem? Can I just bring my old passport and marriage license? Has anyone done this before? It takes 60-90 days to get a new title issued in my state and I'm already in Canada with my car...

Hi all,

Just checked ecas after getting back from a trip and it says decision made! Hopefully this is good news as we did not receive anything beforehand such as PPR or requesting more documents.

I had some questions about landing and wanted to get some opinions on our plan so far. We are planning on landing at Queenston-Lewiston if possible and he is coming from US (NY) to Ontario.

Our plan is to 'flag pole', and have him land with his list of goods/goods to follow ASAP and then apply for a SIN. This is because he needs to initiate a work location transfer with his job so he needs the number. At the same time, it would be nice to also apply for OHIP as well since I think it's all done at Service Ontario and I was wondering if we would run into any trouble with it? We already have a joint account so I don't know if they will think that the bank statement is a bit funny if the date of it is before his landing date? It would also be nice to get that 90 day clock running for coverage but I was never clear on if it was 90 days from application or 90 days from landing.
After applying for SIN/OHIP he would go back for a couple weeks to await work transfer.

We were also considering whether or not we should import his car (5 years old) versus sell it and buy a new one before he comes because cars are cheaper in the US and take advantage of the tax free situation. Not sure if we would run into any issues with having to drive it for a certain amount of time etc before importing?

When should we change to a Canada driver's license? I know we need it to get Canadian car insurance but we also want to shop around a bit for it first.

Is there anything I'm missing on our list of to do things?

1. Make list of goods/goods to follow
2. SIN
3. OHIP
4. Get recall letter, valid 30 days
-> Import car
-> Declare with US export 72 hr before
-> Import
-> RIV inspection/modifications
5. Canada driver's license (before or after import car?? not sure when is best to do this)
->Get US letter of experience from insurance company, US driving abstract
->Get Canada car insurance
-> License vehicle in Ontario/Canada (must be done within 30 days of obtaining car insurance or is it import? not sure)

If there is a better place to post this please let me know.

Thank you!!

Got an email from CIC requesting proof of my husband (sponsor's) residency in Canada. Guess in our haste to pull together all the other required documentation this slipped through the cracks!

Hopefully this means at least that they are looking at our file :)

In case it's helpful here's what the email requested:

SPR’s residency: Evidence that your sponsor resides in Canada. This includes but is not limited to: pay stubs, T4 slips, utility bills, banking history, employment letters, lease agreements, etc. Driver’s licences, property tax assessments, social insurance or health insurance cards are not sufficient to show intent to return.

If Ottawa ask for copy of passport, does that mean the interview is waived?

Thanks.

Usually it says so in the email - something along the lines of 'at this point the interview is waived but we reserve the right to ask for one later'. That's what I've seen on here.

It didn't say in the email that we received. I guess only time will tell if they want an interview.

I just checked ECAS and it said "decision made"! Any idea how long it takes to receive COPR after "decison made"?

Nice! You got Decision Made today? Typically people are receiving their COPR around 2 weeks after.

I'm in Ontario and it only took a few days to get mine. I got DM on a Friday and COPR came in the mail Monday! You should get it soon! Congrats!
