Yaa hope so Buffy2323. I don't know when there is passport required for stamping, why don't they just tell us to send 20 dollar money order or draft along with passport so that they can send passport back with tracking number and we can at least track it.

Also for people who are in canada already they have to send their passport to US and people in US have to deal with ottawa. Its strange, when case is almost finalized why can't they issue visa and COPR from their country of residence.
All very good questions. I wish I had answers for them. I want my COPR asap. I just realized I'm only 2 1/2 weeks going back to USA for Thanksgiving. I am starting to worry a bit myself.

For the B4 and B4a forms, do they have to be typed? How many copies do we need?

Also, if we need to cross back over the border the day after he lands, is that going to be a problem? Coz I know the temp PR card isn't valid for travel...
Help!

They don't have to be typed. Form what I hear it is good to come with 2 copies.

You don't need a PR card to travel via land in a private car. A COPR is fine. You do technically need a PR card to travel via air but if from a visa exempt country like the US, it is usally not a problem.

Its official now, Lawyer has received my passport and COPR today. He send me scanned copy and is sending whole package to me in express mail with tracking. Planning to land on friday 27th September.

Thanks everybody for your help and wishes. May you all receive your visa Asap.

Special note to applicants waiting for visa in canada from LA, it took exactly 15 days from decision made to receive it. 2 weeks are normal from LA to Toronto for regular mail, I have seen other two applicants in this thread for whom took same time i.e 2 weeks.

Cheers!!!!

Have you heard of anyone ever getting their COPR without their ecas ever changing to DM? I think that may have happened in my case. I got PPR weeks ago and status is still the same. I think I'm going to have to start calling the states every few days to see if it has arrived by chance since I can't trust ecas.

Is emailing back the passport copy enough for PPR or should it be mailed too?
What is the purpose of this step anyway? It seems you could just send the same scanned copy you submitted in the first place...

Email is enough. I was told it is to confirm there have been no changes to your original passport (new ones issued, name change because of marriage, travel to other countries, etc.) I just submitted mine and said that htere have been no changes since I originally submitted my PP back in February. it was good enough to get a decision made. Now I'm dealing with an incompetant attorney who swears my COPR will come to my US address even though in ecas it shows my mailing address as HIS address at one of his 2 offices. I am VERY nervous that I won't see my COPR anytime soon.

Any new changes in ecas for you??

I'm a bit concerned myself. I got a PPR email on Sept 3, and assumed it was because they were finishing up my paperwork. Later I realized that I had forgotten to include the page that shows my address when I first submitted my Passport with the application in February. So now I'm thinking that I wasn't getting the final PPR afterall, but just them wanting that other page, which I did send the next time. So the wait continues. :(

Hey Buffy2323, that sounds strange to me. If your lawyer was dealing with your case since beginning, how would cic have your address as mailing address. When we put home address in forms, we also put mailing address which is address of lawyer. So unless we do any address changes, all correspondence should go to lawyer. Technically it should come to him, I don't see any reason for it going to your home address. I think he will get it soon.

Edit: Oops I think I misunderstood. I was thinking you and your attorney are in canada at the moment. but now i think you are currently in states. Whatever I said above is correct unless he requested it to be send it to your address in states. If he has done that then it will go to your US address. In this case, it takes around 2 weeks for cross country mailing time, as you in my case. so with the time its taking it seems like it will come to your address indeed. It might be in the mail already.

I think only reason they ask for copy of passport because they want to see of any changes to passport or cancelled or whatever. Once they send you PPR it means everything is done except printing COPR. After that its only matter of how busy they are at the moment.

I am in Canada currently and attorney didn't ask for it to go to my US address. It should definitely go to his address but he has two offices and it is going to the Canada office (he is in the USA). It is frustrating because he should know these things as an immigration attorney. He gets annoyed when I correct him but so far I have always been correct (thanks to the knowledge on these boards).

I hope someone doesn't drop the ball on his end!!
