The US customs officer was a bit lazy. He wouldn't re-ink or get a different stamp and so just sat there stamping over and over. Finally he stamped it and pressed his other hand down on it as hard as he could. Later, after I got processed on the Canadian side, I looked again, and you still...

Flagpoled February 4th, 2014. Went without a hitch. I walked over the Rainbow bridge at about 7:05pm and was back at my hotel by 7:45. Hardly any questions were asked and I was the only person on both sides of the border. Also found out that Americans don't get a denial of entry slip, so all...

February 2013 OUTLAND (only) applications!! Here is your thread!!

Thanks. I'm going to flagpole in Niagara Falls tomorrow. I think I'll walk rather than drive over Rainbow bridge. Anyone else here ever do that?

Received COPR in the mail here in Canada on January 15th. I'll be flagpoling sometime in the next two weeks.

February 2013 OUTLAND (only) applications!! Here is your thread!!

I've been told by other applicants that there is a printing queue for COPR's and that some are taking as much as two months.

So I thought I would update everyone. I got DM on November 22nd, and I'm still waiting for the COPR. Really hoping it comes in the next two weeks because my Medical runs out on February 5th.

Thanks! I figured that it could happen, but $75 for an extension is a lot cheaper than a $600 plane ticket to go home. :)

February 2013 OUTLAND (only) applications!! Here is your thread!!

CIC has been quirky lately. I got my passport request almost three months ago, and then last month got a request for proof of financial support. Then yesterday, out of the blue, my ECAS changes to In Process. Has only been In Process since November 19th. I guess its a good thing I applied for a...

So I see that Ottawa processing time has gone from 14 to 15 months as of the last update. Sponsor approvals have increased by a mere 3 days though. LOL

February 2013 OUTLAND (only) applications!! Here is your thread!!

Just finished doing a visitor extension application. Probably be about fifty days, so as of November 14 I will have implied status until a decision is made. That takes some pressure off, temporarily at least.

Thanks a lot. :) A few quick questions. 1. When applying, do I include my UCI# for PR? 2. Am I required to show proof of when I plan on leaving? Like a plane ticket or bus ticket.

Have any of you ever filed for a visitor extension as an outland applicant? Can you even do that? I was under the impression that outland applicants who came to visit Canada didn't qualify because Canada assumes you would have done an inland application if you were going to stay more than six...

I'll be going back two weeks shy of six months. We just get antsy because we're always afraid they won't let me back in to Canada if I go to the US and then cross back again within days or weeks. As it is, they almost didn't let me in the last time. Customs begrudgingly allowed me to come in...

Being American, I'm from a visa exempt country. So when we receive PPR, we are only required to send a scanned copy of our passport, so we can still travel.

Yes, definitely a hassle. We have almost all the documents we can possibly put together, and will be sending them in the next few days. Meanwhile, next week I have to return to the US and I'm not sure how long I will have to stay. Originally, we thought that the PPR meant we were close to the...

When we applied, we sent all my wife's financial information along with it. She is on ODSP, which according to CIC, isn't considered social assistance at all. My wife also works to supplement her income, which she is allowed to do. Her sponsorship was approved with no issues. As the applicant...

Congratulations! :) I've had a bit of a setback with my application. I wasn't in queue with the other February applicants and now I've received another document request that I wasn't expecting at all, especially after already getting PPR. Anyway, happy landing. :)

Question about proof of financial support

Thanks for the info. The email doesn't say specifically whether I need to send the physical documents to Ottawa, or just email them. So I will try emailing them first.
