Good to know that theres no problems with your COPR at least. The queue is probably pretty long though. I find that it usually takes two or three weeks to get anything from Canada to the US via the postal service, so even if they printed one today, it would probably be at least two weeks. Thanks...

    Landing question

When landing, I've heard that they want to see your license as part of the ID. Does the address on my US drivers license need to match whats on the COPR? I've had to change the address with CIC since I applied, but my license still shows the previous address. I usually get the address updated on...

    THE STRIKE IS OVER!!!!

What happens to the people that were hired during the strike? They aren't union workers, right? Maybe temps or something? Otherwise they would actually have More people to work on apps than before.

    Ecas

I can look up mine from either the UCI# or the Application#, or my sponors info. Even when you can look it up though, ECAS updates are rather random and unpredictable. Although CIC says its typically updated on Tuesday, it seems that a lot of the time it updates on another day. Some people even...

February 2013 OUTLAND (only) applications!! Here is your thread!!

Although the strike is over, its looking like its going to take months for them to catch up the backlogs. I know they were hiring new workers for a while to take up the slack. I wondered if they would try to rush the easier apps through, just to get them out of the way. I wonder if thats why...

    The strike is officially over.

Guess that means that mine could take the whole 14 months after all. I applied in February 2013. Included the medical, FBI certificate, passport, and all other forms and evidence. The only thing they've asked for since then is another copy of my passport, and told me that the initial review of...

    Yet another border crossing question

I'm a US citizen, Can I use a Nexus card while being a Canadian PR? If I were to apply, would I apply under US or Canada?

    Foreign Service - Strike?

A household income maybe, but a lot of Americans have to live on minimum wage. In Florida where I live, minimum wage is $7.79. Thats less that $15,000 a year before taxes. We aren't talking about household incomes here anyway. We're talking about individual workers making 50,000 and more. How...

I leave ecas open in the background and use an Auto Refresh add-on for Firefox. I have it update every so often so that I don't have to keep going through the login process over and over. I just minimize the tab and then a few times a day I open it up and check on it.

    Foreign Service - Strike?

$51,000 is still five times what the average US worker makes, so you wonder why they complained. I'm sure people can live quite well on $51,000 a year.

processing time from PPR up to issuance of visa

Its different for everyone. Some people get it in a matter of weeks or, like JINU86 said, sometimes months. The Delhi office, for example, asks for the passport first and then processes, where as most others ask for passport at the end of the process, So it depends on the visa office and how far...

I'm a bit concerned myself. I got a PPR email on Sept 3, and assumed it was because they were finishing up my paperwork. Later I realized that I had forgotten to include the page that shows my address when I first submitted my Passport with the application in February. So now I'm thinking that I...

    Passport Request! Now a question

You would only flagpole if you were already in Canada visiting when your papers came. If your in the US or other country, then you just come in within the timeframe that the COPR gives you, and land. If you land and then need to leave again immediately, you can cross back on just your COPR if...

    Passport Request! Now a question

Flag poling refers to crossing into the US at the border and then immediately crossing back into Canada to process your landing.

    Passport Request! Now a question

Might should plan on doing the extension anyway. Your COPR could come tomorrow or two months from now. The thing about the extension is, that you need to put it in at least a month before your other one expires, and if your app is near completion they may deny you an extension anyway. I have to...

    Foreign Service - Strike?

I think it depends on the applicant and the visa office. From what I hear Manila is cranking them out at record pace, while offices like Vienna are barely processing anything. I'm going through Ottawa, which seems to be somewhere in the middle. I applied in February and got my PPR earlier this...

Have you heard of anyone ever getting their COPR without their ecas ever changing to DM? I think that may have happened in my case. I got PPR weeks ago and status is still the same. I think I'm going to have to start calling the states every few days to see if it has arrived by chance since I...
