If it isn't past your VOs posted processing times (what is on CIC's website), contacting your MP is largely a waste of time.

This is true, although you do find out whether your MP is worth voting for.

I already know mine isn't. She broke an appointment we had set a month out because she "might" be needed at a meeting with other politicans.

Hey all!

I ordered my case notes thru the online request form...I indicated we wanted electronic notes emailed and that was June 14... How long does it take to receive notes once they a ordered...I would have thought requesting them to be emailed would have expedited things but still waiting.

Thanks all! Keep on keeping on! It's seriously the hardest thing my hubby and I have gone thru...the not knowing is just the worst part...we have been married 8 months tomorrow and been apart except for a few weekend visits ever since. Hoping to hear something in the next month or so.

I believe they have 30 days in which to respond to the request...and for most (including mine) they take the full time allowed.

Hang in there....it's tough but just focus on the wonderful lifetime you will have together.

For me its 50 days and nothing yet, i emailed them and they say that they are still waiting for response from overseas

My husband was finally able to talk to a live person at the call center this morning! Our app was received on May 28 and we still had not gotten any updates. Apparently they sent us a sponsorship approval email on June 17 which he never received but they resent it and we finally have a UCI and are able to log into ECAS. Now I can calm down a little!

Dear Brightredscream:

The office of the Prime Minister has kindly forwarded to the office of the Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism, a copy of your correspondence dated June 17, 2013, concerning xxxxx and the status of his application for permanent residence.

Our records confirm that officers at the Case Processing Pilot office in Ottawa have recently concluded this application. A Confirmation of Permanent Residence document / Permanent Resident Visa was issued on June 28, 2013. Mr. Xxxxxxxx will receive notification of this decision in writing, if he has not already received such.

I was under the impression that my file goes from Mississauga for Sponsor Approval to Ottawa for the Permanent Resident approval. I was referring to receipt of the file in Ottawa. Which also made me ask; Will I always check my ECAS status as Sponsorship with my sponsor's info, or do I change to checking status of Permanent Resident with my information?

We are right around the same time frame. I hope us January applicants start to see some movement here soon...I cant believe you have been a apart from your new hubby for so long. We are almost there! ;D
