I was wondering the same thing...

Once he gets his COPR, how long does he have from that date to land?
Am I able to cross with him? We were talking about me flying down there and doing the drive together.
What are some helpful hints?
Once you get your COPR you will see there is a date on it that tells you when you must land by or the COPR is no longer valid. Can't imagine anyone who has waited as long as some people have for that document to arrive that you would ever let it run out
When the one for my spouse arrived we made plans for a quick trip to the US for possessions so it was a very quick down and back by car. Just be sure to have the B4 and B4A forms all filled out. We listed everything that was already here as we had been bringing things back with each trip we made during the year of waiting for the process. We will carry those forms with us every time we cross for next while and check off what is already here.
You certainly can do the crossing together and I think doing it together is the best way. This is certainly a shared process. Both the waiting, the frustration and then the relief and happiness that it is a done deal finally. Enjoy that final stage together :)

Ottawa would have to work a lot faster for it to be a burden.
Well, we have sort of figured it out. My husband is "Mr. Computer" so he played it again last night. We know *what* is wrong, but can't figure out why it isn't working if it says it's turned on. (ActiveX controls.)

Hubby said "Download Google Chrome." I already had it on the computer, so I opened it. It works. It will load the spreadsheets, open videos, all that good stuff.

*Shrug*

Now if I can get my university google account to stop conflicting with my personal gmail account. :D

Anyone that PM'ed me, I double checked the spreadsheet and updated anyone that Ivan didn't get. (There was only 1.) Hopefully things will go smoothly over in these parts from now on. (No more floods, drama, or immigration boo-boos!)

Slightly off-topic for Ottawa, but you can run two Gmail accounts on one computer simultaneously if you run multiple browsers (open one in Chrome and the other in Firefox).

My issue is: My university email is through gmail. So when I sign into my homepage/my student portal, it signs me into gmail too. So I go to open the SS. Signed in as a student. Log out, go to sign back in. Takes me to my student portal login!!!! Ah, hahaha........ I just type "www.gmail.com" into the address bar and let it figure itself out.

Chrome pulled my university login from IE. It doesn't really bug me - at least it's working. It's just fun times in the YYC........... :D

I could give your university account editing privileges for the spreadsheet...

Pardon me while I complain for a moment:

It's been 15 weeks since CPP-O received the additional docs and photos (to replace the ones they lost) that they requested along with my family's passport copies. This is completely ridiculous.

I have censored the remainder of my thoughts.

And you've exhausted, I guess, all the possibilities? Phone call or email? That's just crazy. I would worry that they sent it out, like some have said, and it was lost. You're on a time frame like me, and I won't rest until my COPR is in my hand.

Yes, ECAS is worthless (of course), have contacted MP (who can't really do much until the 12-month time has expired), have emailed Ottawa and they don't answer, and ordered GCMS notes. Just have to sit on my hands and wait, I guess.

14 weeks for us now too. And after seeing a few people said their status changed on ECAS I decided to humour myself and check. Of course nothing. Still application received. I've stopped checking the mail, because it's just depressing when nothing shows up, so I wait for my husband to check it when he gets home from work. It's a good thing it's my nature to be a hopeless optimist, because it's really frustrating to have no control over the biggest, most important part of your life.

Hi everyone, I understand that the attention and priority has now shifted to hummanitarian but I would really like to know if they are still some people working on family class applications in Ottawa or is it all at a stand still? Are they finishing the the applicants who got PPR prior to the strike or have they started processing other fam class applications at a slower rate? I guess I want to know if we're waiting a longer time or are we waiting for an answer that will never come until the strike is resolved? Thank.

My understanding is they are focusing on temporary visas and pushing PR to the back. Makes sense because tourism is best in summer and international students are applying for Fall. Temporary status (namely tourists and international students) = big bucks.

Another question...
My husband will be bringing his car over, what does he need? What will they be looking for?
I believe he needs a recall clearance letter? Any idea how long those are valid for?
