Ya I don't think the strike is affecting the processing times because I got my permanent resident card in the mail this afternoon. Eight weeks...not too bad. I think the delay on the rest of the applications is just something normal with cic. Sometimes they work like crazy and sometimes they take their time.

Ivan, my computer is still broken. My husband (who can build computers) can't figure out what's wrong with it. I guess I will need to email my brother (a programmer) and hope he checks his messages sometime this century. If you want to recruit someone else to help with the SS - please go for it. I know it's not fun alone.

DO NOT SEND YOUR ORIGINAL PASSPORT(S). We require copies of a VALID passport for yourself and every accompanying family member. Please note that permanent resident visas cannot be issued on Diplomatic, Official or Military passports.


Changes to your Family Composition:

· Do you intend to give birth or adopt a child prior to becoming a permanent resident?
· Has your sponsor withdrawn his or her sponsorship of your application?

My question is, why would they be asking the last part when he IS married? And we submitted all of those things?

Hey guys! So I'm probably jumping ahead of myself, as I haven't received COPR in the mail quite yet, and it may come with instructions on what I should do. But I figured I'd ask, so maybe I can plan a bit ahead.

I've been in Canada for three years - First a student visa, then visitors (renewed several times), and finally got the call that I my application for spousal sponsorship was approved and I should receive COPR in the mail.

I guess what I'm looking for reaffirmation that I will have to: Re "land" - Basically flagpole down to the closest border, bring "what goods will follow" forms (even though everything has been here already), and so on? Since I'll be working as soon as possible, I thought it might be a good idea to go down to Ohio to visit family for a few days first, and then come back through and land? Am I able to do that? Do I have to bring my spouse with me when I land?

I hope everyone's applications have a speedy turn around time and you all hear about your applications soon!

Once he gets his COPR, how long does he have from that date to land?
Am I able to cross with him? We were talking about me flying down there and doing the drive together.
What are some helpful hints?
