So Canada post xpress post is best option when it is a large package ? or I should go for FedEx ? If I chose CP Xpress, It is better to send to PO box to courier address ? Should I choose signature option ? On PO box is there anyone who sign the package ? wont it be delayed because of it ?

Thanks
Yes, in PO boxes there is no one to sign your package. Altho, when I did Xpress post with signature to the PO box, someone was able to sign it. I was guessing the person from CPC came at the same time with the mail person, because mine got there exactly 12nn. Anyway, if no one signs, it's ok as long as Canada Post provide you a delivery receipt meaning it got to the PO box safely.

I know how to feel, that's how paranoid I was went I sent my package.

A PO box is a central receipt area that is seperate from the business address. They can be small like a PO box in a postal outlet or they can be as big as a warehouse. There are people their receiving mail. If you request a signature there will be someone there to sign for it. I would advise getting a signature.

If you have a physical address why you use a P O BOX? I personally prefer to use Fedex or UPS, faster and more reliable than Canadapost.

Because in guide they Specifically say to send to that P.O box address, I don't know from where people got that other address. But if CIC in guide say to sent to that address there should be a reason for that, may be that is a warehouse and they do all Sorting and scanning their. I feel like other address is their office and they don't lie to receive application over there.

The problem is if you use DHL, Fedex and UPS then they will not accept a package with a P O BOX , they only accept physical addresses.
Only National postal systems frmo other countries can deliver to P O BOXes which has no detailed tracking details and have a risk to get lost.

Not entirely true. You can track parcels/packages through Canada Post. I sent my application via Xpresspost to the PO box it arrived the next day and was signed for no problem.
FedEx , UPS, DHL and Purolator all have the same delivery platforms. We all use the same technology. We routinely get FedEx, UPS and DHL packages that get mixed into the postal stream. They should be returned to those carriers to deliver their own but instead Canada Post delivers it anyway.

Dear CanadianJeepGuy

I think you misunderstood, What i was talking about if we are sending it from Overseas not from Canada. When sending from overseas Xpresspost connections are called EMS, all National postal systems are connected via this EMS system, and there is no tracking while the package is travelling abroad, you only see it when it arrives Canada and not very detailed., I used several times from China and Malaysia and it is not reliable as DHL , Fedex and UPS. the standard shipping dates are 8 business dates from overseas, i also used UPS it took 2 days to send it from China to Canada.
If the application is send from Canada then Xpresspost is ok, but since most of the applicants are based overseas I would recommend those couriers and not EMS

You are correct. I thought you were talking about documents being sent domestically here. Still EMS is treated as Xpresspost once inside Canada. I assumed that this being the sponsorship thread that all applications would be sent from within Canada. My wife sent me her portion I added mine to hers and then sent them via Canada Post. She sent me hers via Philpost/Canada Post. All arrived to their destinations no problem.
I would like a link to where you got your info about Canada Post not being as reliable as FedEx, UPS and DHL.

Tiny bit of a 'thread hijack', but a question about mail. CJG - we have recently started receiving mail for someone that NEVER EVER lived here at our address (not even matching previous home owner). Does 'RETURN TO SENDER' accomplish anything?

I agree most of the application normally are sent from within Canada. I think it is rare (in spousal sponsorship) that someone send all from outside, only happens for Citizen of Canada who are living outside of Canada with their spouse.

I am finally going to send through Canada Post, I hope all will go well, there is not reason to worry as there is a tracking number with Xpress Mail. But if bad luck happens it can be with any courier service.

Finger crossed :p

Great question. Glad you asked it.

We all get mail delivered to us from time to time for people who have moved or died or whatever. Canada Post delivers to the address not the person. So if the person has not forwarded their mail to their new address or notified the sender of their new address you will continue to get that mail until the end of the universe.

Two things you can do to try to eliminate this:
1) Contact the sender and let them know that the person has moved
2) With a black ink pen draw a line through the address on the envelope and write "Moved" on it then drop it in a street letter box.

That should clear up most of the misaddressed mail you get except for the addressed admail. Those morons never update their mailing lists. If you look in the top right corner of the envelope where a stamp would normally be placed you will read "Addressed Admail" or "Admail". That mail you can destroy and throw away. If it includes "RPG" beside the "admail" stamp then that has to be returned via the same method as other lettermail.
You can try to leave it for your postie to pick up but he/she are under no obligation to take mail back if the address is correct.

Hope that helps.

Not unless we live as the first occupant/owner of our home.

Not to want to add to your stress level but CIC lost my documents. So they are more a threat to your application then any delivery company. LOL.
