Hello,

I'm preparing to sponsor my common-law partner who is in Canada with me, I'm currently unemployed in Canada but I am supported by my family (through their business etc). I have a paid representative who said because I have no income in Canada, he suggested that I ask my Mother to cosign the application to sponsor. Can my mother cosign in this case?

First, it's not possible to have a co-signer with a family class common-law application. It's literally right in the guide, multiple times: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5289ETOC.asp
Part 1: Application to sponsor and undertaking
Question 3
You can’t have a co-signer if you are sponsoring your spouse, common-law partner or conjugal partner.

Co-signer sections
If you are sponsoring your spouse, common-law partner, or conjugal partner you can’t have a co-signer. Leave the following sections blank:

Second, fire that paid representative immediately because they are a complete idiot if they don't know this basic fact. They will screw up your application. You are better off doing it yourself for free, and asking questions to this forum.

All your mom or family needs to do is write a simple letter of financial support for you, and that will be enough. Nothing to do with co-signing. There is actually no minimum income requirement for common-law sponsorship.

There was an option for a co signer on the form for sponsor evaluation

Read the post I just edited above with links to the guide.

Again, fire your representative.

Rob_TO thank you for the reference you provided, I've seen it written multiple times myself and even mentioned it to my representative. They are a member of the ICCRC, should I pick this up with them as well?

^^ This

At best you can ask your mother to write a letter specifying that she is willing to support you guys financially.
Should we get an affidavit or anything of that sort stating that?

You can try to report them for being incompetent and not knowing the most basic rules of immigration applications, though doubtful if they would actually do anything. Hopefully this specific consultant hasn't screwed up too many people's applications. If they don't know this basic fact, imagine all the other stuff they have no clue on that could cause numerous delays or worse in someone's app.

Hello everyone..
We have submitted our application but now when i was going through my application in my IMM5669 Schedule A background declaration form .. In the last section where they have asked us to give all the addresses we have lived from most recent till when we were 18 years old, I have given in the reverse order that is gave the information from 18 years old to most recent.. I was just wondering if that would become a problem and will they return the application by any chance?Any input will be appreciated.. Thanks in advance.

Did you validate the form and it succeeded?
