Hey all,
quick question about an item that appears on my checklist (country specific)
I am Romanian residing in Germany since 2009. According to my checklist: "If you reside in a country different from your nationality, include a copy from your visa or residency permit for the country in which you currently reside."
My problem is that I do not have a visa nor a residency permit. As a EU citizen, I have the right to live, work and study in any country in EU (Romania and Germany are state members of EU). I have explained this on a cover letter to CIC. Also, on my passport in says under residence: RF Germany. Would this be proof enough that I live here legally? I also have a business registered here from 2009 (I am a freelance business English trainer), I file taxes every year, I pay pension, etc.
I went to the immigration office here in Germany and asked them something to proof that I am legal, they said they don't give such a thing to EU citizen, because my nationality implies I am staying here legally.
I would appreciate any thoughts you might have on this.
