COPR Question

Hi all,

Firstly my application (FSWP) has been approved, yay!

Secondly they have sent me the letter explaining I have been grated the COPR but not the actually letters themselves orcthe specific COPR.

Do these come seperately or should they all be together with the letter? I haven't received any attachments or anybother documentation.

Any help is appreciated from people that have had their copr.

I dont get the question as to what are you exactly referring to. You first recieve an email (ppr, ready for visa). You print it and send to the embassy along with passport and photos, then they will return your passport with the visa stamp and the COPR letter.

I am way past that point. I am from a visa exempt country so i don't send my physical passport. They have sent me a letter but it doesn't seem to be the copr unless I'm totally not getting it

Those people working at IRCC can be amazingly stupid and nice at the same time.

I'm from a visa-exempt country too and yet my original passport was requested in the PPR, along with two photos. When I called IRCC, the agent explained very nicely that PR is different to a regular visa and that's why I would have to send my passport.

She sent a note to Ottawa that I already moved from Singapore to Canada so at least I won't have to send my passport to Singapore, which was my country of residence for only ten months.

Then that should be your copr. I havent recieved mine yet, so i cant share the exact wording

Agreed. They asked me to send my ticket to the embassy along with my passport. And then in the helpful tips section they wrote be advised not buy your ticket till you recieve your passport. Sigh! Bought it and sent as per their request, not my fault

Got another email from IRCC. This time it reads.

If you are holder of passport(s) from countries whose citizens need an eTA to travel to Canada or a holder of passport(s) from the United States, you will need to submit one photocopy of the photo page and any pages containing amendments of the passport for you and for each accompanying family member. Please do not send your original passport(s). Your passport(s) should be valid for at least 6 months.

When you send/upload copies of your passport biometric page, they will send you three documents: 2 copies of your CoPR (both with photographs attached) and one paper that's more instructional.

Got another email from IRCC. This time it reads.

Which is the correct thing for holders of passports allowing them to enter Canada with an iTA, lol. So info in your first ppr was wrong like you said

When you send/upload copies of your passport biometric page, they will send you three documents: 2 copies of your CoPR (both with photographs attached) and one paper that's more instructional.

In my case, they didn't attach a photo to the client copy CoPR. I'll just take it with me while landing I suppose.

I have received email stating 'ready fro visa' asking for passport documents etc. very similar to email in another user post above.
The email has not been uploaded on myCIC and has only been sent to my email address.

I am from a visa exempt country (UK) so I understand I do not need to send my original passport... and the email states.....

"STEP 3: PREPARE YOUR DOCUMENTS
You must submit together:
1. One copy of this letter, including the Updated Information Chart in Appendix A.
Note: Visa exempt applicants using MyCIC are not required to submit a physical copy –please upload this information to your MyCIC account.

2. Passport(s) OR photocopy(ies) of passport(s), as explained in Step 2.
Note: Visa exempt applicants using MyCIC are not required to submit a physical copy – please upload this information to your MyCIC account.

3. Two (2) photos of yourself and of each accompanying family member respecting precise specifications that can be found at:
www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/pdf/5445EB-e.pdf
Note: All visa exempt applicants, including those using MyCIC, are required to mail/courier their photos. **Please ensure you clearly indicate your application number on the back of your photos. "

For packages signed for on receipt at the High Commission, you may be able to track receipt via the website of the courier company.

I states in step 3, option 1 and 2 need to be uploaded to MyCIC account, but as its been sent to my email, and myCIC account has not been updated so there is nowhere to upload the documents?? I understand I need to send my photos to London office but I don't want to do anything wrong if I cant upload the email letter and another image of my passport.

has anyone else been in similar situation?

I sent the file via CSE in IRCC web form choosing London office. And sent physical copies when sending my photographs as well. Got my COPR without any issue.

I have sent it via the web form tonight and will send my hard copies via post tomorrow. Fingers crossed it's a quick turn around.
