Hi everyone. I have a question for those who landed:

I've noticed some people mention their CoPR was stamped when they landed. I landed at the Peace Arch and the officer just signed and dated my CoPR. Is there anyone else who didn't get a stamp (like me)?

I checked my eCAS looks like they updated it right off. It says 'complete'. The date I landed and the CBSA POE is listed. My does have a stamp on it. One of the first things they did was stamp it. But then I'm US and don't need a visa in my passport.

I guess it could be a difference between officers. I forgot to mention that in addition my immigrant visa was crossed out (meaning I used it). The officer added his "number" next to his name.

Also, my ECAS is not updated, but I assumed it would take a few days...

What does your stamp say?

Oh, then I will just guess my officer didn't have a stamp of his own (he did look young). We will see if Service Canada accepts this without a stamp for a SIN...

Hello, i have exactly the same problem. They accepted it for SIN but not for OHIP (health insurance). The staff I went to for health insurance said she can not accept it and I should bring her my PR card whenever it arrives. Please let me know what you eventually did. Thanks.

I'm looking at my wife's COPR right now. There is no stamp. The officer did sign and date it. And he filled in (hand wrote) some of the fields (like flight number, port of entry, address in Canada, etc). But no stamp.

She used this COPR to apply for SIN and OHIP. She had no problems with either.

They would not accept my wife's COPR for OHIP.

It wasn't really a problem, I was just wondering back then what was the difference. It turned out it doesn't matter if it was a stamp or hand signature, I got my SIN with no problems.

I am not sure about OHIP, since I am in BC, and here you cannot get your BC services card without a PR card, they don't accept CoPR. They did accept the CoPR with that signature to enroll me into the medical services plan, though (because to get the BC services card you first need to enroll into MSP). Sorry...

Well, my only point of concern is that this COPR may not be of use at present when I already received my PR card(today) -I can use my PR card to get health insurance- but in future it definitely is of importance as the most important proof of landing. If you apply for citizenship it is needed and in very far future when you are about to retire you are going to need it again.

ICBC is CIC's blood-relative: their answer might vary from one attendant to another. I got my BC Services Card using only my COPR (my PR Card was expired and not considered because it wasn't a valid ID) not long ago, prior to that I had the old CareCard.

Signed and dated COPR here, no problem getting SIN, and he is currently in queue after submitting the documents for being added to my disability account/medical account (BC Medical). If they reject his COPR for some reason first I'll go bats**t insane then report it here.

I didn't really have problems, since my PR card and MSP enrollment came in the same week, so I used my PR card for the BC services one. I know some other people had problems getting their card with CoPR. I guess you are right, it depends on the agent. Anyways, can't help much to people trying to get OHIP.

For that reason I printed out the page from Ecas showing the date and point of entry at landing. That way if there is any issue in the future, they can compare that and the CoPR. Since there are other people with CoPR only signed, I am assuming that depends on the officer and will not be a problem.

Hmmm, his ECAS never updated (landed July 11). Is this something to be concerned about? It's still just on DM. We witnessed the guard typing in the information however but I read something about a guy who's PR was never activated because the guard forgot.

I really don't know. My Ecas updated within a week, so I didn't really pay attention to other people on the forum, when did theirs update. Maybe try searching through the forum to see what others are saying...Sorry, but I don't want to start guessing.
