When are you flying to Canada? My visa will expire this October. So there is plenty of time for me. But right now countries already shut down their borders and not allowing any foreign nationals. So I'm also thinking about this, as well.Such a relief for many of us!! I don't want to be a killjoy but can they revoke this in a few weeks? If so, they could say some of us had a window to land and they did not take the opportunity.
My copr expires on may 21st but there is a lockdown where I live (France). Technically they did not ban flights going out of Schengen...When are you flying to Canada? Guys I too just saw the news they are allowing people who have their COPR to travel. My tickets are still booked for 1st April hope I can fly by then. My COPR expires 12th April. Who else is in the same boat and goin to fly keep updating. Best of luck stay safe and god bless.
You know, i agree with you. To be honest, now that i think of it, we're going to take a risk to go there. An extension would have been better.I guess I am the only one who doesn't think this is good news. They should have focused on extending the CoPR expiration dates instead of creating exemptions at this stage.
Traveling through multiple airports and taking a (or more) flight increases the risk of infection. We are trying to travel to a country where many of us won't really have enough personal support if it comes to the worst-case-scenario of us getting infected. With supplies flying off the shelves making it difficult to get some essentials, living in some form of temporary housing, while also having to take care of setting up our lives there (banking, long-term accommodation etc), this is going to be more stressful of a move as per me. I honestly don't know right now how we will be supported medically given we might not be eligible for free healthcare if it comes to the worst scenario for any one of us.
Plus, this is affecting the economy and has a higher chance of affecting our job search once there, for those who have to go through that.
Hopefully none of us have to face these additional issues. But the best course of action would have been to stay put for the next month at least. Although I do understand how and why that might be difficult for some/many of us.
