Hello everyone!
Pls walk me through, me and my husband got married in an Islam rites. Though I understand, someday - somehow he maybe involve in another woman (legally) being a converted Islam in the Philippines.
He works overseas and met a Naturalized Canadian Citizen and painful it is to be informed he is marrying her when she visits the Philippines in January. They are planning a civil wedding which I have not inquired yet if possible. He said he does not need to present a Cenomar but his conversion certificate. He said, he is marrying her with or without my consent. He even said that he can sponsor me and the Children to go to Canada if he wants to.
Painful it is to accept the fact but, I am less holding on to what he said; he will get us to join with him as soon as he is settled down there. It's painful to only believe to what he said but still I am not giving up the little chance that he will not totally abandon us.
My question is:
- would it be possible for him to marry in a civil rites in the Philippines?
- is his civil wedding give more rights to the second wife in Canada?
- can I seek assistance from Canadian government should he totally abandon us?
- can he sponsor us in the future as his first family?
Thank you and really appreciate your help.
