Hi i sponsoring my wife she is filling the IMM 0008 2D she get confused with the below explanation when she is at the Dependant section she thought that she have mention me because it says You must include your spouse and when i read it i don't know what to do

(You must list all family members in your application for permanent residence, whether they are accompanying you to Canada or not. You must include your spouse or common-law partner, if applicable, and all of your dependent children, and those of your spouse or common-law partner, who are not already permanent residents or Canadian citizens.)

this explanation really confusing me as well it Asking to mention dependant on the same time i must include my spouse,
does it apply or should i just remove it?

For IMM0008, on question 13 she would be already answering the question and include you as her spouse. She doesn't need to include you as a dependent, remember this is a generic form and its used for people immigrating to Canada on other reasons as well. She would include any children you guys have as a dependent only as you are already mentioned in question 13.

She doesn't include you here. You are already a permanent resident or Canadian citizen.

So just to clarify: on the Additional family information is it or is it not required to include the spouse (sponsor)?

thank you guys

Lady_Ashka: are you asking me ? because honestly i didn't get that as clarification lol

Hey,

sorry about that, I thought I saw Ponga's tip here in this thread that that is required, but I am not sure now; initially I did not do that, but who knows?

Yes, on the Additional Family Information form, you should list your spouse, even if he or she is already a Canadian citizen or PR. Likewise, you list your children, parents, and all siblings on this form, even if they are already Canadian citizens or PRs.
For the other forms 'family member' means 'spouse or common-law or conjugal partner and dependent children'. This form only is asking about other family as well.

But do i include my sponsor (who is my spouse?)

Yes!

Thanks guys! So sponsor goes on 'Additional family information", but does feature anywhere else (I have no dependants, so am not including him, no children (I have no children), and I am not including my mother on the Dependants form), yes?

Anywhere on the forms where it asks who your spouse is, he is listed. He does not fill out his own set of applicant forms, even if the heading says the spouse of the applicant should do so, because they mean a spouse who is not already a Canadian PR or citizen. He fills out the sponsor forms, you fill out the applicant forms.

The dependents listed on the dependent form could only be your children (for a spousal sponsorship). Your parents are not listed there. Parents are listed in a couple of forms, and parents and siblings must be listed on the Additional Family Information form.

Yes, you're right - the question for spouse (for me, at any rate), is on IMM 0008 and then on the Additional family form, and for parents on the background form and on the Additional family form. thanks for the clarification! I added my spouse to the Additional family form, and now should have everything in order :)
