Hi, I am applying for another extension to stay in Canada longer while I await PR. Now that we are Common Law, must I include a common Law statute with the extension? it shows it in the checklist. Thanks

Not sure where you are seeing that but no. I have never included that.

Include your fee receipt for the pr app fees and courier delivery proof of app if you have it.

Hi sorry, one more question. I am filling out the questionnaire and it asks if I will be accompanying a person who has status in Canada. Since I am living with my Common Law partner (she is a citizen) do I click yes?

Can't remember that question.. If they will be accompanying you it asks?

What form?

Nevermind I have found the answer to my question. When asking "how long do you plan on staying in Canada" do I click temporarily 6 more then 6 months?i want to extend for 1 yr. I only plan on staying permanently when my PR gets accepted.

Hey @MountainMan256, this is a bit off topic but do you know how long it takes to get AOR after applying for the extension?

AoR? Isn't that with applying for PR?

Visitor extensions and PR applications are separate.
Hm, I would think they do something similar. Dont they have to let you know your application for the extension has been received/they are processing it and its not being returned?

No you don't get "updates" for visitor apps. You hear when they've completed it (unless they want something else)

Hi, I wanted to show you this.

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...on-change-conditions-extend-stay-visitor.html

It shows common law statute in that list, im not sure if i need it if common law..

Further on question 9

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...hange-conditions-extend-your-stay-canada.html

Is this a new requirement?!

I am now very stressed about this and it seems I will be submitting my extension application 20 days before my status expires rather then 30 :( Is this a big deal?

30 days is a suggestion. I have done mine the week of expiry every time. You can actually submit right up until 11.59pm the day before expiry.

Oh ok that is nice.

Worried as I am extending for the third time without having my PR sent (they other 2 were for 6 months each).
If I mention to them I am sending it two weeks after the extension is sent, I think they will understand though. I am asking for a year this time for the PR wait to go through.
