I got my invite on CRS 417 score under CEC. Me and my girlfriend have been living together since March 2020. My girlfriend is an international student and she would be done with her studies in August. Since I have got my invite and there are some uncertainties for my girlfriend to get her PGWP, we are trying to get her status linked with mine which we were thinking off as common law partner. But we are sceptical if it would affect our application because we did not show it when I made my express entry profile. Can someone suggest us the best way to get our PR together on my invite? Also, we calculated the score with the common law partner which comes to 420.
please help us with this. Thank you

You should really post in the forum relevant to your program (Canadian experience, I take it).

This forum is about sponsorship by existing PRs/citizens of their family members including spouses.

The experience here will be of little relevance to adding/including spouse to your existing app.

The only specific info can provide here is that to qualify as common law, you will need to show good documentation of living together since March 2020, including the start date.

And a warning: IF your CEC app required you to include your family members in your original app, you should have included your common-law spouse, and not having done so in your invite application may have significant consequences - I don't know. (Basically the approach is: you can't 'choose' whether your common law spouse is your spouse or not later; it's either a yes or no. You may be in a situation where marriage might change that, I don't know. And since don't know the dates at which you applied for invite, there may be other points of detail).

But again I warn: I'm making these comments only/primarily from how family sponsorship works, and including a spouse (or not) in a CEC app may be quite different.
