City of residence and remote working while waiting for permanent residence

Apologies if this question has been asked before- I did a search but couldn't find a similar topic.

My husband has received a Provincial Nomination for British Columbia and we are in the process of putting in our application for permanent residence and for our work permits. We are currently residing in the UK, with the intent of moving over as soon as feasible after the issue of work permits. With this in mind, we have started to think about where we might want to live once we arrive.

In the PNP and permanent residence applications, it asks about the location of the office and your intended city of residence. With the office being in Vancouver and us being unsure of exactly where we would base ourselves when we arrive in Canada, we have put down Vancouver for both. The company my husband will be working for provide employees with the option of remote work from home, rather than commuting to the office. Having seen the cost of housing in the Greater Vancouver area, we are now wondering if this might be a better option for us. We are fully intent on settling in the British Columbia province, but are wondering if my husband working from home and living outside of Vancouver itself and not travelling to the office would have any impact on our application for permanent residence? We are potentially thinking about living on Vancouver Island, but the last thing we want to do is to buy a house, get the kids settled in schools there etc., only to find that breached the terms of our nomination and/or jeopardised our application for permanent residence.

If anyone has any insight, it would be gratefully received! I've struggled to find any information on this anywhere and I'm not sure how important travelling to a physical workplace is, or what the impact of changing our intended city of residence might be.

Thanks for your reply! Yes, the employer is on board. Since the pandemic, they have really embraced remote working and are allowing employees to continue working from home permanently if they wish too. Definitely no problem for us to stay in BC- there's a lot to love!
