Are you referring to my paper application or online? Everything including Knowledge went to In Progress at once, obviously the oath is not started. But I have already completed my test and my interview is this week. Time elapsed so far is about 2 months give or take.
My paper application was never really picked up. Applied in August/September. It went from TFR-Eligibility at CPC-S to Registry at Calgary IRCC only to sit and collect dust until I withdrew it.
Well then it def makes sense to withdraw. I think if you have atleast 3 status complete it's not worth going all over again specially if you are 2019. I gave it lots of thought, You never know what cic might pick up from ur new file because then ur physical presence changes.

But if you qualified for urgent processing at the same time you re-applied, there is no way of knowing whether your application has moved faster due to being online or urgent. I think the latter is probably the case. Perhaps you could've sent your urgent request, not withdrawn your paper application and the outcome would've been the same?

Since every individual has a different case there is no guarantee that if you withdraw one and put a new one wont get delayed. Man it's a risky business.

It was not the same with paper. My urgent request for paper was stuck just like my paper application and the only activity which happened with the application was withdrawal. Undeniably, my online application moved faster because it was urgent but the fact that it was online made it easier for them to process. This is strictly my conclusion but I strongly believe online applications are way easier to manage and reduces the trail by atkeast 50%. Obviously I have concluded this by receiving case notes over and over again, which I also recommend against as it really does no good. Lol.

Like I said, it's a gamble and a personal choice. Lol.

And yet there is a thread of people complaining that online applications are being ignored!

Not to rain on your parade, but I'm not sure we can use your case as an example, since you applied for urgent processing. In the March 2020 thread (paper applications), even paper applications moved much faster up to oath. Sadly, I don't personally have an excuse to apply for urgent processing :\

Lol. Honestly, I just try to share stuff from my personal experiences and what I discover during this journey. If you haven't noticed, I can't stress enough on the fact that what I post is mine and only my personal opinion.

And I would stand by what I have been saying - When the right time comes, online applications will start getting processed at epic rates.
Once again, it's a gamble so place your bets where you like.

I have filed Access to information requests for online pilot, resumption Pilot for paper, routine, non-routine and a few other programs which I understand CIC has been operating. That could strengthen my claims about online application but for now it's just my OPINION.

Also, I am fairly close to getting a decision so I might lose interest in all this and retire from the forum but I'll try to send whatever I receive to maybe @rajkamalmohanram and if he/she has time, they could probably break it down in everyone's interest.

Note: Urgent processing is not an excuse. If you're trying to make passive aggressive arguments, I don't engage in such conversations so good luck and goodbye.

I just re-read my post, and I can see how it could come across as passive-aggressive, so I apologize! What I was trying to say is that when it comes to withdrawing a paper application to re-apply online, your case was likely unique since you applied for urgent processing, which the majority of us can't justify. I definitely thought about re-applying online, especially when I saw December 2020 applicants becoming citizens in like 3-4 months, but ultimately decided against it. I took my test earlier this month, and now I can only hope that it won't be another 8 months of silence from IRCC :(

Depends on your situation. I withdrew my paper application and submitted a new one online. Lost 500 bucks in the process but I had also qualified to be an urgent processing candidate when I reapplied.
Personally, and given IRCC'S history of moving on with issues they can't deal with, I would withdraw and apply online as chances are your application will move faster once they have assigned enough resources for online processing which btw is also the future.
Again, it's my personal opinion so take it with a grain of salt as they could just decide to allocate enough resources to clear paper applications backlog and then move to online.

It's a gamble but I'm happy as my bet paid off. $530 is what you would lose precisely.
"and given IRCC'S history of moving on with issues they can't deal with "

What is the history? Will my application take 3 years?

Guys, one more wild thought (or) guess (I could be wrong though)

Just a guess, but do you guys think they might be punishing 2018/2019 applicants because of the last year live protests and news articles about delay? so they are processing 2020 applicants fast. Like you know personal grudge like stuff? I have a hard time digesting the unfairness of processing 2020 applicants while completely ignoring 2019.

(I am happy that at least 2020 are getting fast invites by the way)

I hope I am wrong about this, but I don't know. :(

Yes, that is indeed wild and wrong.

Canvisa13, that's a possibility.... but maybe they would focus on the inividuals more clearly involved.

I don't know to what extent the problem is IRCC neglecting 2019 applicants or if it is 2019 applicants who got tired and now neglect the forum.

It is certainly both, but no idea to what degree.

Nop , they are ignoring 2018/2019 because they are all paper applicants. Most of IRCC staff is working from home hence 2020/2021 moving faster. With Delta and Delta plus variant making waves I see a very bleak future ahead for 2018/2019 applicants unless a very very strong message is given to IRCC.
