Honestly, there’s zero logic or rationale as to how or why IRCC do their stuff most times. When I contacted the call centre, I was told that my certificate had been printed (the agent could see my certificate number, but he said he couldn’t tell me the # for security and privacy reasons.I am surprised many people (me included) who did their oath in Jan still haven't received their certificate. This is worrisome. Are the certificates printed at local offices or at a central office and distributed? I was under the impression it's the former, but with all this delays, I am not sure if that is the case
Absolutely, will do the same, thank you!Sure I will do it. Please, do the same If you receive it.
Thanks
Yeah you are spot on, I'm confused as well, My oath office was Winnipeg and I'm based in BC, so does it mean the certificate will be printed from the Vancouver office or Winnipeg office or Ottawa? Also my biggest question is, when they close the file, do we assume automatically that they have posted the certificate the day they closed the file?I am surprised many people (me included) who did their oath in Jan still haven't received their certificate. So many questions. At first I thought that closing the file means they dispatched the certificate, but after reading here some applicants' files were closed the next day, and received their certificate 3 weeks later, I doubt this is the case. The most likely case is that closing the file means that your certificate went to printing, which God knows how long it takesYeah you are spot on, I'm confused as well, My oath office was Winnipeg and I'm based in BC, so does it mean the certificate will be printed from the Vancouver office or Winnipeg office or Ottawa? Wow, your certificate will travel half of Canada. At least you know it was dispatched and it is on the way. How long did it take you to get through when you called them? I am thinking to email the address from which I received the oath invitation, but I heard they don't respond to some people. On the other hand, I heard you may wait for hours to get through the line. No easy option with IRCC as alwaysHonestly, there’s zero logic or rationale as to how or why IRCC do their stuff most times. He said my certificate was mailed out by the Vancouver office on the 7th of Feb (almost two weeks after Oath and when file was closed). Keep in mind, I’m a Calgary applicant with a Winnipeg processing office - so I don’t understand why it was Van that “mailed” the doc and not Calgary or Winnipeg.
Like, if it was mailed from Vancouver on the 7th I should’ve received it by now. Unless Vancouver is mailing it to to Winnipeg/Calgary office and then from there to my address (which might take another few days).Wow, your certificate will travel half of Canada. Did you request this at the time of oath ceremony or email prior to the ceremony once the oath email was received?
40 minutes is still too long for me. You are talking about Canada Post and from Vancouver. But they should provide us with tracking numbers to track our certificates. It won't break IRCC to pay express fees for the certificate given the poor service they did during the pandemic for the $630 we paid them, but no they use regular cheap and insecure mail to make things harderLike, if it was mailed from Vancouver on the 7th I should’ve received it by now. I’ve been sending email to the email address that sent the oath invitation, I only get auto-response. It took me about 40 mins to get through the call centre.
Yes I’m in the same exact situation with the ottawa office as well. Ceremony took place on December 15th and haven’t heard anything since. File hasn’t even been closed. Have called IRCC multiple times to no avail. The agent from IRCC emailed them last week to speed up but there seems to be something going on with the ottawa office. Seems like they have been closed or something since December since it’s the only office with extra ordinary delays. I’ll keep everyone posted if I get an updateHi everyone I am in a similar situation here and hoping you guys can shed some lights... Ottawa Office - I had my Oath Ceremony on November 23 and up until January 30 I got an email to come pick up the Certificate from the office. 2 days later I got a follow-up email to NOT come to the office due to the on-going protest and should wait until the next communication from IRCC. I need to plan my travel in the next few months and not knowing when I should expect to hear again from IRCC is increasingly frustrating. Looking forward to any advice you can offer. Thanks!
