Hi everyone,

I am new this forum and I need help!!!

I have applied to citizenship from Calgary
send the application on 13th of October 2017
received and signed on 16th of October 2017

and since then I haven't received email or any kind confirmation.

I called the immigration many time last January and they told me there is a high volume of app.
on the Feb 12 I called again and the agent took all my info and told me that he will email the Office in Sydney. then I call back last week and they said the Sydney Office responded to their email and confirm that they have received the app on October 16 and due to the high volume of app they will contact me when the open my app!!!!

please help!

from what I can see here most all the October's app already processed or at least contact them.

any Idea?
Hi. Just be patient. My application was received on October 16, 2017 and I just got my AOR on February 26. Another October 16 applicant got his AOR yesterday. You may get yours probably this week or the next. Be patient.

It was easy , just read the book better
Yes it is
If you did all of that you'll be fine.good luck
Remember that you only need 15/20 (75%) correct answers to pass. If you read the book twice and do sample questions, there's nothing stopping you from passing.
Yup I second this. I read the book twice and did all the practice test from the links on @razerblade 's signature (thank YOU for providing these) and passed 20/20 :)

IMO some practice tests are harder than the actual test, you'll be well prepared. Good luck @Andrewschild

Eh guys, I forgot to give you a little update on my test!
Everything went very smoothly. Got a 100% and the interview lasted about 5 minutes. The agent just verified my old and current passports. Then she asked me one or two questions (marital status, job...). She told me everything was in order and I should receive the oath ceremony date within a couple of months.

Once again, thank you very much for all the advices on how to prepare for the exam and not to stress too much! It really did make a difference!
  1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on October 19, 2017.
  2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on December 2, 2017.
  3. We started processing your application on January 12, 2018.
  4. We sent you a notice on February 14, 2018 to appear and write the citizenship test on February 22, 2018 at 8:15 AM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us.
  5. Decision made : February 26, 2018

Did anyone receive a test invite with a strange-ish time for their appointment? Not a rounded-up time like 8:15am and so forth... but like 1:34pm or something else off like that?

our initial test invite had garbage characters as time (like $ or something); a day after ecas showed a correct time; and a day after that we got a new test invite with correct time and were told to ignore the previous invitation; check your ecas too and be ready for another letter; but if ecas says 1:34 and you get nothing new then 1:34 it is ;)

got question myself: at oath do they give the citizenship certificate or they will send it by post later? if they do then you can just apply for passport on the same day right? :D

Thanks heaps for your reply and for sharing your experience :)

Hi,
Would an admin please update my record in the spreadsheet?
IP: Jan. 25
Test invite: Feb. 27
Test date: March 28

Thanks!!
Are you being processed by Vancouver IRCC? If your test is at 8:15 am on March 28, could you please PM or post the address here? My test invite was sent by email (according to the call center) but I never got the email - checked all the email folders etc. No invite by Post too.

Yes you will get citizenship certificate on the same day.

You have to wait two business days after the Oath to apply for Canadian Passport.
