Folks I must say finally I have relived from my build up pressure for the last almost 1 year .... I have just received the OATH letters for myself and family in the mail.

I have been a silent member for a while now.. reading about others journey... my timeline is as below

Application being processed in Mississauga
Application received: March 28, 2014
Started processing: May 12, 2014.
Letter for Test sent: August 15, 2014
Test written: 16th Sept, 2014
Got CIT520 on test Date

Sent requested docs on 2nd Oct, 2014.

Called CIC multiple times after that. Yesterday the CIC agent told me to call after 16th March to check for my application status.

16th March is the 6 month mark of when I received my CIT520.

I called them today and they said you must have to wait till 36 month average time. I want to understand why i must wait? what the missing paper i have. everything i sent two time by RQ and CIT 520. :-\

Don't feel too bad, there are much worse cases, much worse than mine even:

Yeah, that's more than two years to even get the test invitation (a routine case up to that point).

I spoke to the call centre today, and the lady said that on March 11 it will be 6 months since they requested CIT 520 and to call them then and they'll inquire with the local office. Prior to that all I was told is to wait the 36 months.

Has anyone else been told they can request a status update through the call centre at the 6 month mark after a certain event?

Edmonton is quite possibly the worst local office. Waiting around two years for a test date was the norm for 2012 applicants (although I was extra "lucky" for some reason). They have improved the routine application wait times lately, but seem to have put the old non-routine applicants on a shelf somewhere.

I know of a case that took nearly 4 years total and ended up with a rejection just recently.
