Does anyone know if the CIC strike is still on ??
Is there any news about it yet??
They started processing my sponsorship application back in April but the strike came in the way and I dont know how much will it delay the process :(
Thanks!!!

Its an absolute joke to be honest and a decrease as peoples lives are depending on processing these visa's on the standard time

awww muffin.. how could this be! a slight delay in your 6-8 month max timeline and the world is so fair.. :(

actually, i am applying outside of canada so we are talking about 13 month approximately.
Is the strike supposed to go on for a while? Or is it supposed to end soon ?

Because it is summer, the strike is likely to go on until September. The MP's do not sit at the House of Commons during the summer, and they have not gone back to the bargaining table since June 5 2013.
It's not looking good. Though I hope and pray it will end soon. We are ALL affected by this.

I haven't heard any updates lately.
I imagine since everything slows down in the summer, it might go on until sept or so. :(

I really hope the delay isn't too much. :(

It seems like ALL applications have slowed down. You can send in your application but there will be backlog. Hopefully they work quickly to catch up, or they will be up to their eyeballs in applications for months and months.
I applied through New Delhi, and there has been nothing happening for almost 2 weeks. So it is affecting us for sure. Not every Visa office is striking though.

My spousal sponsorship application was received on June 7th and stage one now says "decision made" online. Based on this, it does not seem like stage one for family class has slowed down. As far as stage two family class or other types of applications, I have no idea what sort of backlog has been created by the strike.

That is because it is the foreign officers strike so overseas visa offices. The Canadian office are still processing the applications and sponsorships. Now that your file is moving on to the Visa Office nearest to your spouses address is when the delays are happening.
There is going to be a huge backlog.
