Guys, bad News. I just checked the website and we won't be able to check MyCIC tomorrow after all.
They changed the Date to July 23rd

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1222&top=3

2 months postponement for family sponsorship... I have no words.

Answer me please!

Hey guys, I need urgent help on this! If anybody has experienced this please let me know!

I applied for my Canadian Student Visa on 12th of Feb 2016, but I haven't heard from the embassy till date! They haven't even asked for my medicals yet! Why is the long delay? I applied through VAC, whenever I track my application it says " Processed passport has been forwarded to Canada visa office Islamabad on 12/2/16. It's been more than 3 months. Does long delay usually means negative answer?

You're asking in the wrong part of the forum. Ask this in the international students section. This section is for Family Class applications.

and please do not ask the same question in multiple different threads. It's spam (and rude).

Guys, I think this is referring to applications other than spousal/common-law/conjugal. Before they listed spouses in a separate category for May 26th and the rest of family class (parents/siblings etc) for July 23rd I believe. I think they just removed the part that talked about spousal cases because that's supposed to come out tomorrow.

We'll have to see what the website says tomorrow.

The rest of the family class (parents, siblings, etc) applications were supposed to be accessible on June 9th... :-\

I think because it no longer says parents/siblings for July 23, that means they pushed back spousal/common law/ conjugal to July 23 as well and then just removed the descriptions as it will now all roll out at the same time..

We'll know for sure tomorrow. It's possible also that they could have pushed back the rest of family class applications besides spousal cases.

Delays in implementing availability of software can always be expected.
Personally I don't see how this tool is going to be very helpful to spousal sponsorship.
It says the Sponsor's application won't be included.
Most applicant's are overseas and won't have the sign-in partner to register.
I think ecas is going to be the only tool useful to me.

My wife and I use her GCKey..

This will be way more useful than ECAS as it will provide a more detailed status, or so they say.

The Sponsor's application not being included means nothing.

I'm not sure what you mean here. You can easily make a GCKey account. You don't need to be in Canada either.

Is a form of Canadian id needed to get a GCKey ?

So apparently I'm not clearly understanding the new system.
For example, I'm the sponsor, if I register for an account by getting a GCKey instead of going through a sign in partner
What will the system show me, when it is finally available for spousal pR applications?

Currently CIC does not release the details of the processing of the applicants application to the sponsor. The processing progress and results
are presented separately to each party and not shared.

Are they changing this policy? If not, then why would my GCKey have the information on the progress of the Applicants part of the application?

No. I just made an account and I don't have any Canadian ID. It's a basic login with a username, passport, and security questions. It will ask your name and date of birth and that's it I think.

Correct. If you wanted to see the applicant's details with the account you would have to have their login information. I haven't heard anything about this being changed. I believe this is also the same system you have to use to pay the fees.

We're not quite sure exactly what the new system will show when it is eventually running. All we know is that it's supposed to be "more detailed". We don't know when they'll add the sponsorship portion either.

Anyone can sign up for a GCKey. My wife registered one before she submitted her TRV application online. We used the GCKey to view her application status online.

The GCKey linked to the Principal Applicant's application for PR will be viewed with the GCKey of the applicant.

Therefore, to view the status of our application, I would simply log on my wife's MyCIC using her GCKey.

Great. Thank you for clarifying.

Did you see any detailed info using the GCKey for the TRV?
